Clubs are Dark buildings. The usual internal description of a Club reads as follows: "…in the near-darkness of the main dancefloor." When powered by a portable generator, the internal description changes to the following: "Coloured spotlights highlight an empty stage, and distorted music echoes over the speakers." Clubs can be barricaded normally.

History

Club Woodard was originally a well-known burlesque theatre and gentleman’s club constructed in the early 1900’s during a more affluent period of the suburb’s history. Clientele was drawn from the higher levels of local society including members of both the Richmond Hills Bowermans and Roachtown Alner families. The club regularly featured high-caliber entertainers (exotic and otherwise) and was a well-known venue on the burlesque circuit of the time. Philanthropist and part-time burlesque dancer, Lady Rielle Huntington (responsible for the construction of The Aquarium facility of Malton City Zoo) was both a performer and business partner in the operation of the “Wood Hard” (as it was known in some circles).

Over the years, the Club slowly revolved through an ongoing cycle of use and vacancy, as the suburb ran through a gradual economic downturn. It has operated as a low-end strip club, bar, half-way house, storage facility, community theater space, bargain cinema and finally a dance club/lounge. In recent years, there were some efforts being made to preserve the site as part of the historical registry and even a proposal to renovate the site to its former grandeur as a venue for concerts and theatrical productions. However, at the time of the Outbreak, the Woodard had been vacant, up for sale and in a general state of disrepair for some time.
