Cary Towers

Description

Cary Towers is an imposing red-brick building which has partially collapsed. Do not be misled by it's stately appearance, dark secrets passed through these halls.

History

Built before the outbreak as an administration office for staff and faculty, living up to it's name the structure literally towers over the University campus allowing views of every plaza and building. Dilapidated antennae arrays point to the rooftops of buildings and hospitals, since the Old Arkham Preservation Society wouldn't allow excavations for underground conduits. Rumors began to circulate about the elaborate networks being used to stream research data after a enterprising student experimented with hacking the wireless paths. It is rumored that the data he captured was something that wasn't meant to be seen by the public and the thousands of trustees that contributed to the university operations. There was a weak attempt at an investigation, but by that time the crisis had gripped the area with fear.

Deep within the basements of Cary Towers are housed the hulking remains of the mighty central datacenter servers that stored and processed untold quantities of research data regarding revivification. As the outbreak wore on, power fluctuations and lack of generator maintenance would eventually silence the humming machines. Anyone who knew the passwords is either dead, fled or now among the un-dead. Some believe that if the systems were ever hacked into and evaluated that both the cause and the cure to the outbreak could be found.

Barricade Policy

The Old Arkham Barricade Plan specifies that this building is to be kept at Extremely Heavily Barricaded to ensure a safe environment for the continued management of Miskatonic University and the experiments therein.

Current Status

Jun 16, 2020 - All quiet here now, too quiet... Building is EHB and no zombies are visible after a sweep of the area with binoculars. MR2Di4 (talk) 06:42, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
