Description

Malton Police Department

Oake Walk Police Department is a police department located in the suburb of Dulston along the very northern edge of the quarantine zone of Malton, beyond which rows of military razor wire fences and concealed landmines work to keep zombies, and survivors, from traveling further north. As the western-most precinct it is the closest of three northern precincts to Rhodenbank and therefore usually the first to encounter zombie threats coming from the west.

It should be mentioned that over the months Lovel Way (92,1) has been abandoned as a revive point and is no longer serviced by The Bridgman Building. Undead survivors seeking revival should instead seek help at either Duport Avenue (92,4) or Hamerton Road (98,1).

Noted NecroTech scientist, Caleb Usher, has visited Oake Walk PD on a few occasions while inspecting the zombie situation in northern Dulston, but he has never considered staying at the precinct overnight due to the chronically low survivor numbers in northern Dulston. Caleb attributes this due to the fact that most zombie hunters prefer to work out of police departments that are closer to larger zombie populations.

Mandate

1) To serve and protect all survivors within a 3x3 block grid (south) of the precinct.
2) To maintain resource building barricades at Very Strongly.
3) To maintain non-resource building barricades within a 3x3 block grid at Extremely Heavily. These buildings will act as safe houses for Free Runners attacking zombie groups in the area.

Affiliates

To date police and military personnel stationed at Oake Walk PD commonly work with survivors located in nearby resource buildings, namely:

  1. Clewett Alley PD (95,0)
  2. Spicer Row PD (96,0)
  3. The Bridgman Building (91,2)
  4. St. Anacletus's Hospital (93,3)
  5. Weston Crescent Fire Station (95,2)

Barricade Policy

This building must never be more than Very Strongly (VS+2) barricaded. This barricade level has been set forth in the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram, a strategic barricade policy that is enforced by all member groups of the Dulston Alliance. This building's purpose is to serve as an access point for all survivors and a safehouse for inexperienced survivors who do not possess the Free Running skill. Visitors are requested to never barricade beyond Very Strongly unless the building is currently under siege from 5 or more zombies. Note that any survivors associated with the Dulston Alliance have the right to lower the barricades back to Very Strongly if they discover them raised higher without just cause.

Current Events

December 12th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S recon reported that there was a break-in at Oake Walk PD. Two zombies had managed to tear-down the barricades and get inside.

Update: Major Azzhole of Metal Fox reported that he arrived to find the doors wide open. He proceeded to engage one of the zombies and neutralized it. After dumping its corpse outside he opted to re-barricade. The building is now Heavily barricaded with 1 zombie still inside.
Update: A hasty report issued by D.I.T.P.S recon reported that the police station's had fallen again (wide open doors) and zombies were munching on N00bert, Second-in-Command of FOXHOUND. Fortunately for N00bert he reads his daily recon reports, realized what was happening, and managed to haul ass out of there in time.

December 11th, 2008 - Major Azzhole of Metal Fox reported that Oake Walk PD was Extremely Heavily barricaded and powered. He also reported that there were currently 8 zombies outside.

December 10th, 2008 - Espina of FOXHOUND reported that zombies outside were attacking the barricades. For a brief period the barricades dropped to Lightly, before he was able to Heavily barricade the building. As an added precaution he alerted Dulston Alliance central command and requested further support.

Update: Major Azzhole of Metal Fox arrived on the scene and helped Extremely Heavily barricade the police station.

December 9th, 2008 - Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue reported that the police station had been repaired, but that he had only managed to Loosely barricade the building. He has requested further assistance from Dulston Alliance operatives in the area.

Update: Major Azzhole of Metal Fox arrived to lend support to Officer Murphy. With his assistance the building was soon Very Strongly barricaded. He also reported that there was 1 zombie outside the precinct.

November 30th, 2008 - A report issued across the radio indicated that Oake Walk PD was back in survivor hands.

November 12th, 2008 - Whether ferals, or a zombie horde, no one knows. What has been confirmed though is that zombies overran the police station's barricades and killed everyone inside. The building is ruined.

November 2nd, 2008 - Oake Walk PD is Extremely Heavily barricaded, but currently is not powered. Survivors seeking ammunition here are requested to bring a generator and fuel.

October 20th, 2008 - The building was reported as ransacked. Survivors are asked to approach with caution.

October 6th, 2008 - N00bert, Second-in-Command of FOXHOUND, reported that he managed to clear and repair the police station. Unfortunately he was unable to re-barricade, so a request for assistance has been issued.

Update: ... Not exactly sure what happened, so I will let N00bert's own words speak for themselves: "Never mind. Scouter got there. Oake Walk taken."

September 9th, 2008 - Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue reported the police station had been reclaimed and re-barricaded thanks to efforts by DvB. The building was now Very Strongly barricaded.

September 6th, 2008 - Dead vs Blue recon indicated that the police station was repaired, but unbarricaded. With its doors wide open and two survivors hiding inside it was clear they didn't want to attract any unwanted attention from feral zombies wandering the ruins of Dulston. Of course news has reached the police station that most of the zombies have shambled south to engage in the assault on Treweeke Mall.

September 5th, 2008 - Officer Murphy of Dead vs Blue reported that he had managed to recapture, repair, and re-barricade the police station.

Update: The police station was overrun and Officer Murphy pulled into the street. Fortunately he was able to recover in time and fell back to the nearby factory. Regardless, the police station is ruined again.

August 28th, 2008 - D.I.T.P.S reported recon from this location, namely that it was still holding out against the Militant Order of Barhah... for the time being. Unfortunately with most of the suburb in ruins survivors here know that it will not be long before the MoB arrives in force to clear them out.

February 1st-2nd, 2007 - The Shamblin' Crooners made their usual grand entrance and entertained everyone inside with their famous "break-in & concert" style of zombie rock. Unlike past concerts this was the third stop in their new SHAMBLIN' CROONERS APOCALYPSE tour. Dulston survivors heard a lot more angst in the zombie tunes as they sang heavier music including Metal, Grunge, and of course Death Metal.

November 15th, 2006 - Members of DORIS persist in their claims of controlling all Dulston. Taking a page straight from Conquerors 101 DORIS has instigated a policy whereby local buildings and streets throughout the suburb have been renamed by their group, in this case, the police station is now known as the Clobber Police Department as far as DORIS is concerned.

July 19th, 2006 - Many survivors were killed, with only a few survivors remaining inside. Twelve zombies were found inside, while four more staggered around outside. The building is currently unsafe.

July 7th, 2006 - Survivors noted that the building's barricades had been destroyed and the doors left wide open. At this time the PD is unsafe.

November 16th, 2005 - The Drunken Dead returned with a vengeance, tearing down the building's barricades and killing every survivor inside who could not flee in time. It's believed their anger stemmed from a failed attempt to locate liquor at the Bridgman Building earlier that very day.

November 3rd, 2005 - The Drunken Dead sacked Oake Walk PD. Afterwards they congratulated each other, ate a few brains, and rummaged around the police department to try and identify what made the buildings so attractive to humans. After turning up countless guns and uncovering large stockpiles of ammunition the zombies give up. They could not find a drop of booze anywhere within the building.

October 28th, 2005 - The Drunken Dead zombie group is formed. Zombies from nearby suburbs converge on Oake Walk PD in order to initiate their very first attack against the survivors of Dulston.
