Description

Broken and faded neon tubes of many colors line the street facing wall. Ticket windows that once sold escapades from reality are reduced to stainless steel frames with jutting spikes of shattered plate glass giving a sad appearance to what was once the largest multiplex in Gulsonside.

History

Once seen as a glittering example of modern luxury, boasting seven screens and stadium seating the Pavitt Cinema was the ulitimate in movie-going. Built in 1990, it saw the dawn of THX-1138 grade sound systems and huge screens lit by state of the art digital projectors. It's concession stand was dominated by a large glass popper putting out tasty popcorn, glass counters which held a bevy of candy and a rainbow array of slushies. Nowadays, even if someone has a generator to hook up, most of the neons won't light and the screen has too many bloodstains to reflect and hope of escaping the misery of post-apocalyptic life.

Current Status

The Pavitt Cinema building is the second place of residence for Gulsonside resident Puto Madre, who is attempting to start a local group. He was thrown from the inside of The Cockell Building on March 1, 2007 by unregistered members of the United Bar Alliance, and has fled to the cinema.
