New Barricade Plan Discussion

I have a couple ideas. I'm the new MFD Captain for Lamport Hills. I just got to Lamport this afternoon and had been doing some scouting for a barricade policy I thought I'd have to write from scratch until I found this talk page. Anyway, it seems to me that due to the surplus of PDs, they are a logical candidate for EHB designation, especially since two are so close together. Additionally, there is a preexisting and rather logically placed RP at [59,9] Church Square. I've taken the liberty of adding it to the plan since it is adjacent to both an NT building and an entry point. I also noticed that a group called the Imperial Guard Regiment 101 maintains a revive point at [52,5] the McLean Monument. Lastly, I'm confused as to why the Auto Repair Shops have been set to EHB. I think this might be new but the UBP says they should be set to VSB, and we need to change 2-6 more EHB buildings into VSB to be in the right range. --Wfjeff 23:33, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I scouted out the Imperial Guard's home turf and they seem to do a pretty solid job of taking care of [51,4] a factory and the immediately adjacent 5 buildings so I think we should go ahead and put their RP on the plan. Also, they have tagged their hospital as EHB (and kept it at EHB) whereas Martha General is unlabeled (and at less than VSB) so I think we should switch Adalbert General Hospital to EHB on the plan and set Martha General Hospital to VSB. --Wfjeff 23:00, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

The Malton Milkmen seem to be inactive which makes the Imperial Guard Regiment 101 the only currently operational organization in Lampost Hills. I've made modifications to accommodate them and hopefully the Milkmen won't mind. I've also messaged the author/manager of the UBP to get the plan reviewed. Hopefully we'll be approved. --Wfjeff 23:32, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Here is the proposed Barricade Plan for the visual learners, as you can see it has 10 entrypoints. 3 PDs, 1 Hospital, 1 Auto Shop and 1 Necrotech building, as well as 3 other VSB buildings. I took out the RP at Church Square because 3 RPs isn't really necessary, and the cemetary should stay for SGP, and the McLean Monument for the Imperial Guard. Please let me know what your thoughts are:

Plan on main article page.

Vikermac and I collaborated this morning and did some tinkering with the above diagram. This is the final product and it is ready for submission. --Wfjeff 22:59, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

We the Malton Milkmen are not really inactive, at least Short Ling and I aren't. I like this barricade plan, execpt considering Lamport Hill's danger level I would have the NT not be enterable and kept at EH especially because its the only one in the suburb. --Coldflame 23:06, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

I think that is a perfectly legitimate concern. This is kinda to be proposed for Lamport Hills in general, but under the current circumstances, it is important to keep our buildings higher. The reason we had it at VSB+2 is so that low-level revivers can get their NT supplies in order to level up, but I'm glad to see that at least some of the Milkmen are active! --Vikermac 07:19, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

As am I! Actually I was pretty disappointed when I thought you guys had gone inactive after seeing the work you did on the barricade plan. And I'm in agreement with you both about the NT building. I will probably barricade it to EHB if I see it at something lower. Vikermac is right though, the purpose of the plan is really to function as a guideline for Lamport Hills in general, and it would be impractical to update it to reflect conditions on the ground with any frequency. Those of us here in Lamport Hills will just barricade the Lambley Building to EHB until the danger level goes down, which hopefully will be very soon. Oh, and I hope you don't mind I archived the original plan. If you still like the alternate format better and can give me a link to the generator you used for it I will use it here for the new proposal. --Wfjeff 21:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

...it seems fine to me, maybe the only thing I would've done differently is Hooke's AR to EHB and the junkyard at 53,3 to VSB. This cause I find Auto Repairs to be more useful to veterans than to beginners who shouldnt bother about fuel cans at least before they get running. Also there's a Factory next door and no other AR nearby making Hooke very valuable. --Wfjeff on behalf of User:Lehto 01:49, 3 January 2007 (UTC).

I think that makes a lot of sense. The real reason Hooke was designated VSB was because the Imperial Guard was maintaining it at VSB already, but with the M(A)F headquarters there now the Imperial Guard probably won't bother monitoring it so much simply because it won't be necessary. And if the M(A)F is willing to spend the AP to keep it EHB, all the better. Making the junkyard an entry point maintains the status quo and everybody's happy. I'm going to go ahead and make the change. If anyone else would like to comment please do, the issue isn't necessarily closed, but with Operation GLH about to begin I think we should go with this for now. --Wfjeff 02:26, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
