  • The Reptile House and Aquarium are buildings without doors.
  • The Lion Enclosure, Bear Pit, Giraffe House, and Elephant House have wire fences that work the same as Junkyards.
  • Empty "City Zoo" blocks are open land and cannot be barricaded.
  • None of the enclosures can be ransacked or hence ruined.

External Description: You are standing outside the Lion Enclosure, a wire fence surrounding indistinct foliage.

Internal Description: You are inside the Lion Enclosure. There is no sign of its former inhabitants.

History

One of the primary attractions to any zoo, the Lion Enclosure at the Malton City Zoo was among the best in the world before the outbreaks. The zoo staff took great pains to recreate the African Veldt in incredible detail. It was once home to an entire pride of African Lions.

Current Use

Despite occasional attacks by hostile zombies, the Lion Enclosure remains one of the safer places to sleep during peaceful times at the zoo. The Lion, however, prefers different surroundings these days. The prevailing theory is that he wandered off in search of females, and developed a taste for sleeping on piles of cardboard boxes in abandoned warehouses during his travels. Various members of the Malton Zookeepers are frequently found perched here.

Barricade Policy

Survivors are encouraged to keep the barricades at EHB in this location.

Animal Update

At least one Lion has been repeatedly sighted roaming the zoo grounds and playfully batting at the visitors. He rarely sleeps in the Lion Enclosure, though. Reports indicate that this really pisses off the former zoo staff.

Have you seen an animal wandering the city of Malton? Report it at the Malton Zookeeper Website and the Zookeepers will do their best to relocate the poor creature to its proper home.
