Sprio: Skeletor here from Zombie Squad. Is there a way to prevent Grim from editing our page? I will take down the drama section if there is some way to prevent his odd obsession with us.--Skeletor 19:16, 28 March 2006 (BST)

Why did you re-introduce grammatical errors to the entry on Experience Points? --Feanor512 19:21, 20 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Eh, readability over pedantic accuracy - repeating "he or she" multiple times might be more strictly accurate, but it's quite clunky to read. Good work on your other edits, though, which I only noticed afterwards; there is a lot of Wiki that needs it. --Spiro 20:51, 20 Nov 2005 (GMT)
What about using the plural form? --Feanor512 21:34, 20 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Thanks for section-izing my talkpage. --LibrarianBrent 06:05, 13 Oct 2005 (BST)

I have no idea who Fazed is, but there seems to be a LOT of accounts intent on vandalizing them. Fazedobliviator is another one. Slicer 00:16, 28 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Editing news

Hey, can you edit Template:Lastupdate instead of pasting stuff directly into the main page? ? ceejayoz .com 20:38, 19 Sep 2005 (BST)

Is there any need to, on a Wiki whose main page isn't updated much? I mentioned this on Talk:Main_Page when I did it, I assume the include-other-page thing is for huge-traffic Wikis where people would be making edits to different parts of the same page, at the same time. Correct me if I've misunderstood this, though. --Spiro 22:46, 19 Sep 2005 (BST)
I created the template in expectation of the main page being redone with tables, and so on. That never happened, so I suppose the template is kinda useless. Still, it simplifies the task of updating the news, since you don't have to mess with the tables. --Daranz-Talk 01:47, 20 Sep 2005 (BST)
For what it's worth, I agree with Daranz. Using the template seems the "right" way to do it. Also for what it's worth, not a major issue in any way. --John 04:56, 20 Sep 2005 (BST)
I'm probably missing something, but there's no easy way to get to the "last update" page to edit it, from Main Page, is there? You have to know what you're doing and muck around with URLs, which is, I presume, why the news takes a while to get updated, that it has to wait for someone who knows how the template works. Which isn't the end of the world, it just seems a bit unWiki. --Spiro 10:03, 20 Sep 2005 (BST)
I put a comment in the code that'll hopefully steer people the right way. ? ceejayoz .com 21:24, 20 Sep 2005 (BST)

There we go. I've done it. Happy now? Eh? EH?!?!

Yes, that image and others are being used on the wiki, not just as a storage facility. It is part of a sub-project from my user page, rather than a seperate article, though.

I have, however, been trimming the images somewhat with the GIMP first. --BenM 02:40, 29 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Inquiry

Pardon me for being a little bit upset here - I well understand the life of an admin is busy and I'm sure negative feedback isn't exactly something that's going to lighten your mood. For that, sorry now and in advance.

I wanted to point out you removed 'Recurring Problems' from Bug Reports without notice on the talk page even though there was a discussion about a page clean-up. Actually, two discussions. It's upset me a trite (okay, who am I kidding, it's upset me a lot, because I'm moody like that v_v), because I've been hoping for constructive input on the matter for a month now and no one has responded, and now all that happens is that it's removed without comment? Perhaps you can understand my irritation somewhat.

I assume you had no ill intentions at all, afterall, the talk page hasn't even been updated over the course of that month (which's kind of furthered my irritation in the matter), and so it's easily overlooked. But maybe you can contribute to the respective discussion? -pinkgothic 21:13, 14 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Thanks again for your input on the subject matter, I wanted to toss you a line to alert you that I've restructured the page now, which, I find, has helped readability a lot. As random trivia, I found the "The Bugs" in the plaintext as I copyeditted, someone had indented it, hence why it wasn't showing... but, ah, sidenote. Anyway, I started another discussion, since even despite the improvement, there is still room for much more. If you'd like to get involved, I'd love to hear your thoughts :) Best regards, -pinkgothic 21:19, 19 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Zombie Population

The zombie population is generally played by more mature players, especially if you compare thier activities on forums with human players on forums. From such an observation it is fair to suggest that the majority of younger players are playing humans primarily. The human population has decreased by about 9000, while the zombie populatioon has experienced an increase above its daily peak of about 1600 (from about 15000). While some human players have changed sides, the numerical increase would more likely be representative of the closer to the number of humans who cant get revived at this time killed in recent zombie actions because the human numbers have fallen to the point where the organised hordes can utterly obliterate them. In other words, it is the general concensus that most of those "new" zombies are in fact standing around saying "Mrh?" Due to the fact that the RRF is visibly ravaging several suburbs, killing hundreds of people, i do not feel that this observation is either unreasonable or unlikely. --Grim s 06:49, 2 Jan 2006 (GMT)

I don't know, I've been seeing a lot more wandering ferals, personally, rather than polite hundred-strong queues at revive points. And if the survivors have dropped by 9000 for Christmas, shouldn't the zombies have dropped by a proportional amount (3000?) as well? It makes the 1600 increase look a lot stronger, if so. --Spiro 07:07, 2 Jan 2006 (GMT)
No, Zombie players seem to come primarily from a different (older) demographic, as shown by the general greater maturity of zombie players on the forums. As such a far lesser proportion of them are affected by holidays. --Grim s 21:02, 3 Jan 2006 (GMT)
Oh, I was assuming that by "mature" and "younger" you meant the amount of time people had been playing the game, that you were basing this on in-game experiences rather than how old you think forum users are. I'll put the "risen steadily" back in the On Strike page; even if there are mysterious reasons for it, it is true, and the greater mass of zombies on the streets is certainly improving the game, even if a lot of the feral packs turn out to be mrhing and misunderstood survivors. --Spiro 02:26, 4 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Location Stubs

I'm just curious about the location Stubs change back to grey. Any particular reason for the change? It was changed to red to make it consistent with the other stub format shown below. --Nov 16:19, 6 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Handred.png Stub

The glaring red seemed a bit excessive when I saw it on a location page - checking the template someone else had made a comment that the red seemed a bit strong, so I changed it back to the grey it had been before. A stub banner is a request for further work, rather than a high priority error message. (I hadn't realised there was another stub format; I'd say that one should be a grey and muted as well - Wikipedia's stub banner is just one italicised sentence, after all.) --Spiro 00:35, 7 Jan 2006 (GMT)

THE DARK KNIGHT PITTY YOU.

Wiki Exploits

I and several other Pwotters have noticed the groupbox template, to the best of our knowledge, being "hacked" at in recent days. We note that the history shows no direct editing. Last night, it appeared to be all groups; today, it appears to be mainly the larger zombie hordes.

Since I'm guessing this is less the work of l33t hax0rs and moreso human kids, as I concur with Grim's statements above, I'm not particularly worked up over it. I am, however, wondering if we're the only ones noticing this trend, and if not, what's being done to fix it. -- Ruining 17:30, 31 Jan 2006 (EST)

Hacking? You mean people mistakenly editing Template:Groupbox to include their own group's details, so that it appears on every group's page? It's up on Moderation/Protections (although I don't know why it took so long), it'll probably be protected soon, unless anyone's got a good argument for it not to be. --Spiro 01:17, 1 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Amazing, Abritration, etc.

Corrected you a bit on the Arbitration page. Not trying to be a pill but your presumption was off and I figured I'd let you know. This message is a basic "Don't take it as a YOU ARE RONG LOL jab at you". Just sayin'. :X -- Amazing 06:05, 2 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Regarding Zombie Squad

I dont understand your interference. I have absolutely proven my case with regard to that group and its former zerging practices. The fact that it once fully sanctioned such activities is perfectly acceptable in the NPOV section of the wiki. Lukehughs of the group confessed to doing it (Screenshot), His (Skeletor's) words here are very illuminating as to his stance on the subject. A Screenshot of two of his characters sharing the same building in Dulston confirms he zergs. If this, among all the other stuff in the appropriate thread are not sufficient proof, then absolutely nothing can be proven. --Grim s 10:10, 22 March 2006 (GMT)

Sigh. Imagine we've just had this conversation again, but with all my paragraphs in a larger font size. I'm not disputing that they were doing some minor cheating, I just don't see why this is important enough to post on a group's page, particularly when it's tedious forum-linking proof rather than a neat in-character summary. And I really don't understand why anyone would care about the fact that some players were cheating six months (?) ago and have stopped now. --Spiro 10:19, 22 March 2006 (GMT)
I am very strongly against cheating in any form (Especially since i mainly play the underdog class which is often facing off against cheaters like Zombie Squad (In fact, i did face off against that group, and several others with cheaters)). The reason i provide the proof along with the accusations is because if i do not do so, they can delete it pointing out that no proof has been provided (Which is patently false, as i have amasses a small mountain of incriminationg evidence. In face, ZS Dave and ZS Upsilon still do zerg, and they are, i believe are Skeletors characters (But im not 100% certain). Basically, i dont believe in letting either individuals or groups get away with their crimes against the UD community. --Grim s 10:34, 22 March 2006 (GMT)

Spiro, a group is free to attack the NPOV section from within the body of their article, however i am not aware of people being able to remove sections from the NPOV section and then attack them elsewhere on the page purely through personal attacks. I moved the NPOV section back to where it belongs, but i am more than happy to let them attack my person where they placed their "drama section". --Grim s 07:34, 26 March 2006 (BST)

I would just like to point out that the screen shot of more then one of my characters was durring Christmas time when the entire game of Urban Dead was a slow crawl with hardly anyone playing. My characters where singing christmas carols to each other to entertain boared players. I don't think that classifies as Zerging. As for the other guy that was so called Zerging he has been gone from the team a looong time. In addition the other characters Grim mentions are not mine. I don't even know who those guys are.--Skeletor 02:13, 29 March 2006 (BST)

You don't need to defend yourself to me, I've always known that Grim was overexaggerating this for the sake of whatever weird grudge he has, that two characters in a building isn't "zerging" by any commonly-understood usage of the term. --Spiro 08:58, 29 March 2006 (BST)

Promotions

I replaced the "Withdrawn" notation on my Moderator candidacy, since that is the fact.

Please do not edit in false statements. - The vote was open for a short time and I actually had one vote for approval. I could've swung many more approvals by asking friends of mine to vote.

It was withdrawn and will be marked as such. -- Amazing 03:21, 1 April 2006 (BST)

One vote for approval that was followed up with "See, I did it. Now where's my $5.00?" And I doubt any moderator would have processed a promotion request that every single other moderator and every long-term wiki user was against, but that some of your friends were in favour of. My change was just a compromise edit, but yes, you withdrawing it is much funnier, I'm perfectly happy to leave it like that. Happy April Fool's Day! --Spiro 09:51, 1 April 2006 (BST)
I would just like to butt in here and say that I am not, nor ever have been Amazing's friend. I was barely aware of his presence before his stab at mod-hood, and am likely to ignore his existance from this point forward. If he ever makes a credible run at mod-hood, I will likely abstain from voting. Also, he still owes me $5.00. --Beauxdeigh 00:52, 2 April 2006 (BST)

Are there any policies against Verbal Abuse?

Today I was suggesting some new ideas into the suggestion page, and I recieved several, erm, verbal abuses. It may possibly because of my suggestions, but I really don't see it as why I should recieve verbal abuse, a dismissal of my idea will be fine, I dont see verbal abuse as needed in that situation. At the moment I do not wish to have names as I feel threatened.

Just to ensure you understand everything. I should tell you everything regarding this.

I was doing this new suggestion, and forgot that new suggestion has to go to bottom of the page. After inspection, and read the rules again, I realised I have put the suggestion the wrong place. Straight after this, I used copy and paste to move the suggestion to the bottom, and had pasted twice. I did not realise at that moment as I was facing a vast amout of text. After submitting the changes, I realised I had two multiple suggestions which are identical by the mistake described above. At that moment I went back to edit, and I simply just deleted one without noticing theres a vote by Grim S (I think that was him), which now I have put it back again. Which can now be seen at the suggestion page. I hope this is clear enough to prove that it was simply a honest mistake rather than a 'planned' thing.

And then I noted it at the end of the page. Again, I recieved another verbal abuse. I understand theres another post regarding me apprantly was vandaling the suggestion page, nope. Just described above.

Sorry I can't put a link to the suggestion part. But I am confident that you will definately find it there. [changchad]

Vandal Banning: PQN

Geez, you're fast. Thanks! --Prosperina 7:21 28 April 2006 As a note, if you're interested, adding Template:PQNbanner to your user page'll add you to the... competition. -- Odd Starter talkModW! 13:33, 28 April 2006 (BST) Although, when you ban a user could you mention you've done so in their latest Vandal Banning entry and put it in the Vandal Data? that second doesn't matter so much with PQN but the first saves work with other people going to ban him until they see you've already done it.--'STER-Talk-Mod 20:28, 28 April 2006 (BST)
