Club Cocker Sign

Description

Club Cocker, illuminated in colorful neon lights, is a strip club in the suburb of Dulston that sits alongside the border with Rhodenbank. Club Cocker was opened in 1957 as a venue run by foreign businessmen from outside Malton. Then in 1971 the gentlemen's club was bought out by local Malton businessmen, James Hanson and Clark Wesson, who planned to bring in new working girls and change the club's venue from pure strip into something far more profitable, albeit more illegal. This came to a sudden and violent end in 1977 when the club owners, who police alleged were embroiled in controversy over their Mafia connections, tried to cut a deal with police. Before the men could be brought under protective custody police found them both shot to death in the club's office. Unfortunately while police found circumstantial evidence that pointed to the Russian Mafia in Rolt Heights nothing substantial was ever discovered, and as such, no charges were laid against the unnamed suspects.

Club Cocker, a former strip club that catered to men's desires. Times may have changed, but the club certainly hasn't.

Not long after the deaths the club was purchased by influential Malton businessman, Henry Bosley. Bosley's business connections to international marketing presented Club Cocker as a particular challenge to him. Interested in bringing in high-paying cliental and thus improving the club's profit margins Bosley spent over $80,000 to renovate the club into an exclusive high-end strip club, which as far as he was concerned meant lots of neon lighting outside and inside the club. The renovations were completed in 1980 and paid off in the months that followed as word spread. The club had certainly set itself apart from other strip clubs in Malton by moving away from the sleazy or rundown image often associated with strip clubs and now presented itself with a more refined nightclub-like atmosphere. It was this new look that attracted major corporate bosses, city officials, and celebrities from across Malton and beyond.

Unfortunately in 1987 Club Cocker attracted the wrong kind of attention... public attention... after a series of scandalous photos published in the Malton Herald revealed the A-list of celebrities and important business figures who were caught frequenting the seedy establishment. Bosley did his best to cover for his patrons so as to reduce the embarrassment the scandal caused them, but in the end it cost him most of his important clients and ended the club's unique status among Malton's social elite.

In the months following the "Malton Incident" the club has remained mostly derelict. It was only recently that the strip club was cleaned up and appears to have been home to the exotic male revue troupe, Man Up.

Above the bar a sign reads:
Club Cocker: Where we let you come inside.

Barricade Policy

Barricades should be kept at Extremely Heavily at all times. A common misconception is that this is to prevent zombie infiltration, in reality the bouncers enforce a strict dress and style code. The Gable Walk Fire Station provides a backdoor entry, just one block to the west.

It should be noted that the official barricade policy for this building was set forth by the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram and the true purpose of this building is to serve as a heavily fortified shelter for Malton's veteran survivors. This ruling is enforced by all member groups of the Dulston Alliance.

Playlist

The DJ will play "Dancing Queen" and "Take A Chance On Me" once per night. Survivors do not need to request them; just be patient. This was considered club policy long before zombies started wandering Malton declaring their love for ABBA. The extended mix of Donna Summer's "Last Dance" is always the last song played. Survivors are asked to always tip the DJ.

Current Events

May 1st, 2010 - The club seems to be a favorite hideout for notorious GKers and PKers in the area, providing them with a dark space where vigilante's weapons are less effective. Come check here if you're looking for Whitlock WIZARD, He's dead Jim, or Tony Loop. Whitlock WIZARD was noticed napping in a dark corner here just last night. --soynuts 17:28, 1 May 2010 (BST)

December 26th, 2008 - Club Cocker is extremely heavily barricaded, but unpowered. --Espina 16:40, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

October 20th, 2008 - Today marked the day that Club Cocker was reopened after it was shut down last month during the fall of Dulston. There was no record that which survivor took the time and effort to repair, refurbish, and reopen the club, which spend many weeks in ruins. Whoever he/she is, his/her works will be forever appreciated.

December 16th, 2007 - Statement of Inactivity: ATTENTION THIS GROUP IS OFFICIALLY INACTIVE, ALL CLUBS UNDER THE SEX POSSY'S SUPERVISION HAVE BEEN REVERTED TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER (WINK, WINK).

April 2nd, 2007 - A flurry of murders has occured in Club Cocker aimed at a survivor named Macho Nachos. Survivors who frequent the Club Cocker are advised not to kill anyone while in any of the clubs overseen by the Sex Possy.

March 20th, 2007 - A survivor, Gaybait reported that Sex Possy has over-extended itself in its attempt to take over all the clubs in Dulston. They are now "putting the dull back in Dulston".

Update: The Sex Possy notes that they are only claiming "management" of all Dulston clubs, as in "club maintenance" as specified under our All Your Clubs Are Belong To Us Policy (see Sex Possy - Section 7.1). The concept of maintaining buildings was a precedent set by the Electric Light Torchestra and our group firmly insists that they are simply "taking the dull out of Dulston", not taking over. --VenetianBlind
Update: Caleb Usher strongly recommends cooperation between all survivors, as only by working together can we successfully fight the zombie menace and protect our precious beer supplies! Do not let misunderstanding shatter our bonds of humanity and stand strong in the face of adversity. Zombie-related adversity.

March 19th, 2007 - Club Cocker is now under new management! The survivor group, Sex Possy, has stepped in to provide much needed tunes to this often deserted club. Now maybe the NE Corner will get back into the spotlight as one of the most groovin' places in Malton.

August 22nd, 2006 - The Broadway Zombies were on tour and stopped by the club on invitation of Man Up. In addition a splendid performance at Club Cocker by Kitty Eater, along with his impromptu duet with Andrea Doria of the Broadway Zombies brought a tear to many eyes, and a lump to some pants. Man Up appreciates quality entertainers, even if they are undead.

June 5th-6th, 2006 - The Shamblin' Crooners made their usual grand entrance and entertained everyone inside with their famous "break-in & concert" style of zombie rock. Some humans were eaten. Some zombies were shot. Bottom line, everyone had fun. Rock on Crooners, rock on...
