INTERVIEW WITH i am the police OF THE BMC

Recently, upon an invitiation from one of their members, I spent some time amongst the members of the British Military Corps BMC in Whittenside. I made my way down through some trecherous territory to get to the Southern Regions of Malton to meet up with the group. To my suprise, it seems my arrival was not expected. Still, they welcomed me warmly enough. I wasn't sure what to expect from a group who's motto is For Pie and Country. As it turns out, the BMC is a lively and humourous bunch who take a laid back approach to things in the face of the Outbreak. But make no mistake, when the time comes to be not so laid back, the members can hunt zeds as well as the next guy. It took a week or so but I managed to sit down and have a chat with I Am The Police.

01. DW - How did the BMC form? How long have you been active?

IMTP - I've been active around Malton for about 8 or 9 months, I think. But the BMC was started long before that. Most of the members still here today'll know. Ask jamie, Andre or SGN Jenkins about that.

02. DW - Is the group pro-active in what goes on in it's suburb or does it prefer to keep to itself and not involve itself in the politics?

IMTP - We make alliances with most of the survivor groups that come though Whittenside, and if they have a problem they can come to us and vica verca, but if 2 survivor groups have a falling out, we very rarely get involved one way or the other.

03. DW - What is your purpose, mission etc?

IMTP - We're quite a laid back group, we ask very little of anyone joining. We mainly have 2 goals. 1, protect Whittenside 2, Have fun. We're not one of those hardcore groups that has stages you have to go up through.

04. DW - What is the BMC's views on Pkers? Survivors? Zeds? Bounty Hunters? DEM?

IMTP - The BMC is very opposed to PKers. we even have our own PKer, Nuke Texas, who only hunts down BMC members, mainly council members or older members. He tried to rejoin the BMC and we thought he'd changed his ways, but it turned out he'd had a spy in the BMC for a long time now. He ended up getting kicked out, but he did quite a bit of damage, especially to Chris. We like survivors here in the BMC. If theres anything we can do to help a survior, a heal, or revive, we'll do it, BMC or not. I cant really say I hate zeds as without them this game wouldnt be that much fun. I used to be one of those idiots that went around killing zombies on the streets, but around the 3 month mark I gave up on that, as I realised it was useless. But by then, shooting all those zombies had given me healing and reviving skills, so I was set to go. Bounty hunters are odd little people. I'm fine with them being around and doing what they do, but I wouldnt do it. It sounds boring. I've never seen the DEM in action in all the time I've been on urbandead, but I've heard great things about them, and i'm sure they're as good as the stories say...

05. DW - Which direction do you see the BMC heading in the future?

IMTP - I'm not sure about that. I'm the kind of bloke that keeps his head firmly in the present.

06. DW - It seems the BMC is not a group to travel and seem to be firmly planted in Whittenside. Do you see yourself moving or branching out in the future?

IMTP - Nope, Whittenside is the home of the BMC, and the Beable Arms is our pub. It was suggested that we move away not that long ago, but I dont think a single BMCer, excluding the suggester, wanted to move.

07. DW - Tell us about some of the BMC's best times (accomplishments, group events, etc...).

IMTP - We've played our part in many Whittenside seiges. One time, quite a while ago, the zeds found it utterly impossible to enter Whittenside. All around us were ruined suburbs, but we kept whitt green, with help from the other groups. But, far better that that, is how, every Christmas, the BMC and the FU get together for a christmas party. The FU are our main enemy group in urbandead.

08. DW - Tell us about some of the BMC's worst times or things you'd rather forget.

IMTP - There was a time, not long after I joined, when the BMC went into total disarray. Quite a few of the older members left in a short space of time, including captainscarlet, one of the biggest names in the BMC. Then there was the time when Chris went insane, not long after Nuke Texas rejoined, blocked the other council member from the BMC. But he regained his sanity not long after, and things, although rocky for a while, got back to normal. Then we found out the nuke was still as evil as he ever was and quickly dealt with problem.

09. DW - You have mentioned the group is led by a council. How does this council get chosen? Is there a 'time in office' limit etc...?

IMTP - Yes, the council is made up of 3 people (currently me, snake and sgt jenkins) and these change every 3 months. The old council members can run again, if they want, then the entire group votes for whichever member they want on the council, lasting 3 rounds. if you like I could give you acess to the anouncments forum, so you can see how the votes went. just message me if you do.

10. DW - Are you still recruiting? What is your groups Policy? What must one do to become a member of the BMC? What is the most important quality a potential recruit should have?

IMTP - All we ask for someone to join the BMC is that they are willing to come to Whittenside, they play survivor or dual-nature and they dont PK. The main thing we look for in new recruits is a willingmess to have a laugh with the rest of us.

11. DW - Is there an Ally or Enemy you respect or particularly despise?

IMTP - The FU. Now they're an odd bunch. It's hard to decide to love or hate them. I'm active on there forum, and the BMC and FU used to have quite a strong bond. but most of the older members of the BMC and FU hav left now, and we new guys dont see much of them. im the only BMCer on the FU forum, and illwind is the only FUer over here.

12. DW - If you had one word to describe the following, what would it be?

For Pie and Country: yay

Fort Peryn: trenchies

Decaying Teeth: infectious

Timezones: annoying

Malton: fun

DW - Thank you for your time.
