The dead have begun to rise. I have been searching for information as to why this city is the one hit by the zombie plague. Two weeks ago I found an old newspaper inside of an abandoned hospital. It dated from last May, and buried deep within was a story on cemetery overcrowding.

I began to search for more information on the problem. I ended up at the headquarters of the Malton Times. This small newspaper is the one that I originally found the story in. While searching the area, I found that every computer in the building had been destroyed by either fire axe or shotgun blast. A large quantity of paper had been burned inside the building. I realized that these were no random acts of looters, but planned destruction.

However, I did find a small lockbox hidden inside the drop ceiling. After breaking the lock, I found a small quantity of research by Marshall Bradwell. Near the bottom, I found a single page detailing the overcrowding. Bradwell's research seemed to indicate that the cemetery overcrowding was a known problem within the city government of Malton. He noted that every request for more land to be zoned for cemeteries in the past year had been denied by Mayor Joseph Kline.

The paper stopped mid-sentence. However, it seemed to imply that Kline had a shady connection with NecroTech. Bradwell noted that Kline had recently been noted living beyond his means. From what I could gather from my sources throughout Malton, Kline disappeared from public view shortly before the outbreak.

I'm not entirely sure what this means, but it seems fishy.
