Nothing is sacred anymore, is it?

During the first stages of the outbreak, people attempted to find ways to fight off the disease carriers. Apparently people believed that if you carried a crucifix you would be protected, or that the walking dead could not enter the holy ground of the many cathedrals and churches. At any time this was proven wrong it was accepted amoung the believers in the use of Crucifixes that the people who suffered had not been chosen to survive.

Many preachers advocated that these actions were the signs of the end times and only through their personal blessings could you be saved. But since the revelations of the NecroTech it is now known that there is nothing magical about the terror they face, and no amount of holy trinkets would protect the survivors.
