[edit] Who We Are
Alpha Squad Redux is the DHPD's first attack squad. We design simultaneous attacks on mass amounts of zeds, be it ferals or mobs. In other words, we're a heavy strike team. Members of Alpha Squad will get into position two or three blocks from the reported sector before engaging as a group at the command of our squad leader, or anyone with the balls to call the shots. Any individual can kill a zed, but zeds really feel the pinch when they don't have groups of their own likeness backing them up against survivors.
When we're not bagging zeds or liberating suburbs (which is what we do most, by the way), we often find ourselves baking donuts and taking care of the stills that fuel our organization as a whole. Sorry, but we're not going to tell you where they are.
Why redux? Because this is what you can call the second, more awesome version of the first, but we're known as Alpha Squad to our comrades simply because we are, and that there already seems to be another Alpha Squad. It'd be more fair to the other Alpha Squad that we don't take over their title and all, since we are a subgroup of a major group. But, whatever.
We are also specially trained in gorilla warfare. Not guerilla warfare, mind you.

Our offices are always open. No, wait. We don't have a desk to receive your applications, so you're going to have to do it through the main DHPD. Check out the HR and Recruitment Page and follow the instructions, then contact Plash Ricrem and you're set.
When you're done, check out the offical DHPD forums here where you will earn your stripes before being assigned to the squad of your choice. It doesn't matter if you're a level two or if you're a level thirty-something, or if you're a Private, or a Scientist. Once you do join, you get your very own jacket with the words Alpha Squad painted all over it, just so you know that you belong.
There's only one prerequisite to joining Alpha Squad. Due to the nature of our operations, having Free Running is a must.
[edit] Hierachy
We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune! Nah, the squad is mostly a democracy with a mysterious mist at the top. All others take orders, or suggest them depending on the situation. Note that we don't have ranks such as captains, lieutenants, privates and whatnot, so we're pretty lax as far as decorum goes.
[edit] Roles
Should you join Alpha Squad, you can choose from a number of roles:
Medics:
Those with Diagnosis and First Aid (preferably) skills. Heals the squad when members come under fire (or under bites). Will defend themselves only when absolutely necessary, or when they're feeling lucky.
Evangelist (formerly Revivalist):
Coupled with the skills of NecroTech and the Testaments of DHPD, Evangelists spread the word of the DHPD and the glory that comes with being a member, thus making them the official recruiters of Alpha Squad. When not preaching to a panicked public, they tend to the undead by giving them the promise of life. But really, its just a Revivalist with more responsibility.
Someone with syringes would be, of course, a goodness. It would be an added bonus if certain Medics can take on the role of Revivalists, if the squad lacks members.
Scout:
Scouts don't necessarily have to be a part of Alpha Squad to operate as one, since their duty is to scout areas within a designated suburb for signs of a mob. However, a scout with guns would always be appreciated. Scouts will carry a few flares and keep themselves armed, though not as heavily as a gunners would.
Gunner:
For everyone else who wants to gun and run. Have as many pistols and shotguns as you can carry, and all of them should be fully loaded.
