Dulston is a suburb of Malton, located in the northeast corner of the city. Of note, it contains Treweeke Mall, a bastion of consumerism. Other locations of interest within the suburb include St. Barbara's Church (98,2), Troubridge Cinema (99,0), the Pepperell Museum (91,4), Parrott Towers (94,4), and the ghost-haunted Caffin Library (95,9). A large portion of this suburb's violent history was associated with the many survivor, zombie, and death cult groups vying for control of Dulston. Historically Dulston has shown a tendency towards maintaining a relatively low number of zombies, but a higher than average number of PKers wandering through its streets. This combination of zombie and PKer attraction has led to the creation of one of the more proactive supergroups in Malton history, the Dulston Alliance. In an interesting twist, the suburb is actually stronger away from the border rather than near it, as a large block of empty streets runs up the center, dividing the west half (which features such landmarks as Treweeke Mall, the Whitlock Building, the Bridgeman Building, and multiple factories and warehouses) from the east (which features two of Dulston's three hospitals, the Trood and Beale buildings, and the suburb's only cemetery). Also of note is the surprising block of police stations on the northern border. This varied distribution of resources often leads to the far northeast corner being ruined and full of zombie hordes, as majority of survivors congregate at Treweeke in the southwest and the response time from there to the corner is considerable.

[edit] Dulston - More than just a tourist location!

Before the outbreak, Dulston was a relatively peaceful suburb, with a booming textile industry and several NecroTech buildings where new employees were trained. The suburb's main attraction happened to be Treweeke Mall, which frequently attracted shoppers from the surrounding suburbs. During the outbreak, Dulston was deserted with most of its inhabitants evacuated by a military convoy, but military sources outside of Malton report that the convoy never arrived. It was assumed to be lost, with all evacuees now members of the ravenous undead or scattered throughout the city.

If one factor has remained constant it is that even after the fall of Treweeke Mall to Mall Tour '06/'07 and the Big Bash, the invasion of DORIS and the RRF, survivor groups have continued to mobilize in the surburb's defense; taking on different responsibilities throughout Dulston by forming the Dulston Alliance. As a result, Dulston has become one of the safer locations within Malton for survivors seeking safe haven. Since Mall Tour '07, Dulston has become the de facto capitol suburb of Free Zone North.

The Dulston Alliance, a united organization formed from the suburb's various survivor groups, has promised to defend Dulston to the last man.

Barricade Policy
The D.D.D.S originally compiled the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram back in 2005. This diagram is designed to serve as a specific barricade layout for the entire suburb during regular day-to-day operations. Of course in times of siege or intense suburb-wide zombie attacks, survivors are advised to retreat to Treweeke Mall and follow the Dulston Alliance Emergency Plan.

Revive Points

Revive Points
Revive points have been set up at Duport Avenue (92,4), and Hamerton Road (98,1). Hamerton Road fluctuates as a revive point, due to zombies with Brain Rot taking over now and then plus the sporatic operational status of the Beale Building and the Trood Building. As such, Duport Avenue remains the most reliable place to be revived. Also undead survivors seeking revival should be aware that some survivors groups have taken it upon themselves to reduce the number of standing zombies at any given revive spot whenever there are 15 or more. This has become common practice in light of past sneak attacks orchestrated by zombie groups who choose to hide in plain sight at these locations pretending to seek revival while in actuality they are gathering their forces for assaults on survivor strongholds within Dulston.

It should also be mentioned that, while not a sanctioned revive point for Dulston's larger groups, the cemetery (99,2) located just south of the Trood Building is considered by some survivors to be a revive point due to the Sacred Ground Policy. Of course due to the jaded history of cemeteries within Malton, and the violent nature of the northeast corner of Dulston, getting a revive at the cemetary requires both good timing and a little luck.

Mobile Phone Mast
Dulston's Phone Mast is situated at Parrott Towers (94,4). The group FOXHOUND has claimed responsibility for the mast's daily maintenance and defense. The Electric Light Torchestra has also included the building to both routes covered in their enlightenment-tours through the suburb. With these precautions in place the Dulston Alliance's joint management over the phone mast will no doubt provide all the support the phone mast will ever need.

[edit] July 05th

As if the return of zombies isn't bad enough, a group of terrorists called The Dulston Veterans Squad, led by Meowdam, attacked the Whitlock Building as a declaration of war to W.I.Z.A.R.D. and all bounty hunters. Claiming to "Free Dulston", they had killed 17 people, destroyed the building's generator and radio transmitter, before dispersing into the nearby area. The group is now declared to be the enemy of the Dulston Alliance and to the survivors'cause, and to be killed on sight. -- Kittithaj (recorded on 6 July 2008)

The suburb is quite safe from zombies, but there's a lot of PKing in Dulston. There seems to no real reason behind the killings, which is mostly for revenge or something similar. I can't think of anything to prevent yourself get PKed, except maybe to keep your head down and not to provoke aggression. On a personal note it may simply be frustration building up in survivors due to lack of zombies to kill. --Dr Frank 17:25, 27 June 2008 (BST)--Dr Frank 17:25, 27 June 2008 (BST)

Well, at least law-abiding survivors can hunt down those criminals instead of zombies. -- Kittithaj 18:10, 27 June 2008 (BST)
We've seen a bunch of new PKers, including many who claim to be following the Rogues Gallery. In addition, we always the our standard GK/RKers. I think it might be time for a little trip south.Mikeage 10:06, 29 June 2008 (BST)

This is a friendly reminder about Dulson's Optimal Defense Program, part of the Uniform Barricading Policy established throughout Malton. Lately all police departments and hospitals have been barricaded above VSB. This prevents new players from healing, getting supplies, and leveling up. It might also prevent veteran players from finding entrances into a safehouse, leaving them stranded outside. According to the defense plan, there are still plenty of safe places available with high barricades (32 of them). The barricade policy is solid strategy, written by veteran players. We should encourage all of Dulston to follow it, and give low-level players a fighting chance. --OneArmedBandit 10:54, 16 June 2008 (EST)

As far as barricades, Tanner Auto Repair has been acted as a south entry point, but is currently overrun. it needs to be retaken and LEFT at VSB. --tylerisfat 04:53, 17 June 2008 (BST)
I agree. The Northeast part of Dulston was extremely heavily barricaded last week due to zombies invasion. That was completely reasonable. But now most zombies has left, yet lots of buildings are still overbarricaded. People who don't have free running are going to be stuck outside. And that is bad for our reputation; Dulston should be friendly to all survivors, new and old alike. -- Kittithaj 16:39, 18 June 2008 (BST)

- Dr Cory BjornsonTalk 04:31, 1 June 2008 (BST)
Reports of a small horde have been confirmed. Roughly 50 or so are moving in from south Pescodside, with more spilling across the Rhodenbank-Dulston border. Notably, a horde of 20 at Anne General Hospital and 30 some near the Inman Building.
--Kikashie Read the Dispatch! 04:55, 1 June 2008 (BST)
Lots of small groups all over the place. I don't recommend any evening strolls outside right now. Those bite marks are still tingling.
--Dr Frank 10:32, 1 June 2008 (BST)
The situation is most dangerous around Anne General Hospital. More than 10 zombies gather there. I was short of 1 AP to get in the safety of nearby Weston Crescent Fire Station, and was killed while waiting in only 2 minutes. -- Kittithaj 16:59, 4 June 2008 (BST)

[edit] Things to do while in Dulston

  • Shop 'Til You Drop! - Looking for that special something that might help keep you alive? Then why not drop by Treweeke Mall; where prices are so low we're practically giving everything away! So shop around or just hang out for a few days. Is there a limit to how long you can roam our halls and shops? Nope. Stay around long enough and become official "mall rats"! We really couldn't care less. Or more! But be sure to always remember, whatever you need you'll be sure to find it here, at the mall.
  • Stay Current With Current Events! - Visit the Naisbitt Building, official printing house of the Dulston Dispatch, Dulston's first and only newspaper! Inside you'll find amazing things such as, but not limited to: Stacks upon stacks of blank paper, drums full of ink, and an industrial size printing machine! Great fun for most of the family. Issues are printed out weekly and sell at the reasonable price of free!
  • A Funny/Religious/Cult Experience! - Pilgrimage to Troubridge Cinema in order to gain wisdom from the Night of the Living Dead (now playing) and then travel to St. Barbara's Church to seek enlightenment from the Survivor Saints. Recently refurbished by DvB and Ragnarok members, with the addition of RvB movies. Have some oreos and imitation 7-UP!
  • Games, Alcohol, & Good Times! - Survivors are invited by the survivor group, Dead vs Blue, to stop by Downe Towers so they can join in on some Halo/Halo 2/Halo 3, drink some beers, and debate about which pistol you prefer to use against the proverbial "Flood" (i.e. zombies).
  • Learn How to Drive! - Forgot how to drive? Think driving would be an amazing way for getting around zombie-infested Malton? Course you do! So come on down to Crazy Ed's Driving School and learn how to drive... possibly.
  • NOT Haunted, So Read a Book! - Come visit the very cheerful Caffin Library and be sure to stay the night. Rumors of survivors being found horribly mutilated are exaggerated, because seriously, what kind of survivor doesn't get horribly mutilated at least once while in Malton? You'll be fine. Relax.
  • Enjoy Grea- err, "Edible" Food! - McZeds' Dulston branch is located at the old Nott Auto Repair building, which is conveniently found at [98,3].
  • Eat the Homeless! - Dulston is famous Malton-wide for its street people! Whether they sleep outside by choice or by circumstance, there are almost always a few (dozen!) hobos squatting on Dulston's sidewalks, silently beseeching passersby for a spare heal or two. Sure, they're a bit smelly... but a brain's a brain... gnam gnam...
