[edit] History
Gelasius General, known locally as "Glassy Hospital" or just Glassy, was an underfunded hospital. Working in such a deprived area meant that life expectancies were low and violence high. Its waiting rooms were crowded and Doctors had to fight a daily battle to keep Vinetown healthy.
Since the outbreak little has changed. The hospital is a haven for all survivors from the streets outside.
For the last year (From 18th July 2007) the hospital has been under the stewardship of the M.E.R.C.Y. organisation, helping out those who are new to the streets of Malton.
(In Game Note As the only hospital in the area Glassy attracts more than its fair share of zombies. It is therefore an excellent place to gain experience, in a suburb that is generally quite safe.)
[edit] Barricade Policy
Up to VSB+2
If less then three zombies are standing outside keep the barricades at Very Strongly Barricaded, as to keep access for injured survivors. If more then three standing zombies are outside we will raise the barricades to EHB until we can control the outside zombies.
[edit] Current Status
News over 2 months is found in Gelasius General Hospital Vinetown/Archive.
Six days was all that the outnumbered, besieged survivors at Gelasius could last. Vinetown's last truly safe fortress fell sometime yesterday or over night. Held till the end by a ragtag band of random strangers and friends it inspired us all. The Towncrier's reporter currently numbers amongst the walking dead so this will be the last entry of the Towncrier till fortune favors us. --Towncrier 08:04, May 18 (EST)
After 6 days, supplies are running low, an overwhelming 41 zombies stand waiting outside, and 16 zombies inside, but the reswolute survivors still fight on, Gelasius is standing still. Those few heroes still remaining inside wait for some hope? Some indication of relief? The hungry zeds don't care, they just want to eat. --Towncrier 09:38, May 17 (EST)
It has now been 5 days of intense fighting, hand to hand combat. The groans of the zeds are litteraly shaking the walls of Gelasius, and there are estimates of at least five overnight breakins, but still, despite loosing numbers and the constant menace of infection, the warriors of Gelasius have held out. There is even progress on other fronts. Ling was retaken temporarily, and the parts of the mall temporarilly taken from the hands of the zeds. But things are grim, and the survivors at Gelasius, do not know what tommorow holds. --Towncrier 08:03, May 16 (EST)
After 4 days of intense barricading and numerous breaches, the survivors in Gelasius have held out. The siege of Gelasius is being thought of as a stand for humanity by some, a last stand by others, and a helping of experience by many, but regardless the living locals are up in arms, and to quote one unnamed barricader, "We've had quite enough! It's time to show em we will not run! Gelasius will not fall!" --Towncrier 02:29, May 15 (EST)
Orzo has been scene running inside just long enough to graffiti the inside and destroy the generator. Even after attempts from other survivors to kill orzo and make he stand in the ranks of the walking dead, Orzo has been able to find someone willing to revive him, so he can continue his destruction around town. --Chadrees 07:03, 16 May 2008 (BST)
Hospital is lit and caded at VSB with 43 survivors inside and no zombies nearby. ChainReaction01 22:53, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
