Hamlen specialised in fixing officers' exotic cars.

A surprisingly slick car workshop, with the best tools you can buy, shiny floors you could eat breakfast off, and a wide selection of Pirelli calendars to browse while-u-wait.

History

Before the zombie outbreak, the Hamlen Auto Repair was the only body shop available to the personnel of Fort Creedy, and it got excellent business as a result. Canny owner Archie McBeagall realised that the officers not only drove some swanky cars, but were used to being quoted ridiculously inflated numbers when dealing with MODEM (Ministry Of Defence/East Malton) contracts, so he accordingly inflated all of his quotations for repair work.

Because of his high-level links with the Defence Ministry, McBeagall was also able to negotiate with the Federal Council of Pegton that his workshop be a neutral zone when the Pegton Wall was constructed in 1961, ensuring a steady flow of custom from both sides of the east/west divide as well as from the Fort. As a result, McBeagall and his sons became some of the richest men in Pegton, eclipsing the fortunes of such Pegtonian entrepreneurs as Walter Webber and Padraic Laghelegh.
