April

April 23, 2006

I guess I'd better start keeping a journal to chronicle my adventures. Here's how it goes. My name is Reed Cedric Garrett Tiburon. A mouthful, I know. I don't really know who my parents are - I'm adopted, and I never really connected with my foster parents. I joined the Army to figure out who I really was. They dropped me off in Starlingtown with a flare gun and my wits. With no zeds or military presence to speak of, I went native. Picked up some medkits and went healing people around the hospitals. Then, at a still working TV in Brendan General, I saw the work of the Malton Civil Defense Unit. I got on a CB radio and broadcast a message. They told me to head over to Brooke Hills. On the long way east, I met a contact who issued me dogtags. Now I work in a siege situation. I have a pistol, two shotguns and an axe with me. I spend most of my time barricading, though. I've killed 3 zeds to date - I haven't gone outside yet.

April 24, 2006

I'm doing daily sitreps for the MCDU. Today I headed over to Ryley Road Police Department. The place was busted up - and abandoned. I scrounged for a while, and got a shotgun and some shells before I headed back to my safehouse. I still need some pistol clips. I've been barricading around - it feels good to protect myself. I won't publish the location of my safehouse in case someone else reads this. Stay safe.

April 25, 2006

Today I got word of a break-in at St. Wulfstan's Hospital. Headed over there only to find a barricading problem and 2 zombies. King Louie took care of a zed and Jarl Darkwolf got the cades while I worked on the other zed. I got pretty lucky - that thing took four shotgun blasts to the chest, but kept going. It must have stolen a flak jacket or something. I ran out of shottie ammo, and pulled out the old fireaxe, combating fatigue. I got lucky and hit the bastard for the kill, then hightailed it out of there.

I feel better at the shotgun now. Killing that zombie made me realize I'm actually really good at this thing. Put that one on my resume.

Who wakes me up from my nap but King Louie? Apparently he tripped and fell onto the street while roofstepping over here, and got chewed on pretty bad. I hit him with a medkit, like everyone else. I'm so tired...

April 26, 2006

Went to Ryley Road PD and found 2 zeds. Barricaded around them, then scrounged for ammo. Found a clip and two shotgun shells. A complete waste of time.

People ran in yelling about a zed break in Ryley a little while back. I headed in there to check it out. The barricades were back up and the zeds were gone, but 2 guys seemed pretty beat up. I used my first aid kit to patch 'em up some, then headed back. I need to resupply.

April 27, 2006

Some survivors came in here talking about zed breaks in Ryley and St. Wulf's. Headed over to Wulf's and found one guy standing there, shellshocked. The barricades were mostly reinforced. I searched for first aid packs, with little luck. Then I headed over to Ryley PD. As I went through the door to the main area, I spotted a pack of 4 zombies, standing huddled together. They didn't really seem to be interested in me. I started up a barricade around the place, then left via window. I picked a new safehouse. There's talk of attacking the old one.

Headed over to the hospital for first aid kits to replace the ones I used yesterday. 2 guys were in there doing the same thing I was. Training doesn't change all that much. I found 2 medpacks and headed back.

April 28, 2006

Headed over to check out the situation at St. Wulf's, and found the place abandoned with the doors secured. Barricaded it until it was very strong. Then I headed over to Ryley, where I found 2 guys huddled in the corner and 2 zombies chasing them. One of the zeds looked beat up, so I shot him with my pistol, then finished him off by axe. I fired at the other one until I ran out of ammo, then hightailed it back to my safehouse. On the way I met a young lady who told me that many supplies could be looted from the malls in the area. I'll have to try out this "shopping" the next time I go to a mall.

Took a quick trip around town. Everything is quiet - it's weird. Went back to the old safehouse.

April 29, 2006

Wow, there are a lot of people in my safehouse. Healed someone, then headed over to Ryley. The place was abandoned, so I looked for ammo and got 3 shells and a clip. Then I went to St. Wulf's, where there was no one as well. Got a couple of medkits there. There are reports of zombies ransacking buildings now, tearing out the walls and shit - this shit's creeping me out.

April 30, 2006

Headed over to Wulf's to check it and found 2 zeds looking blankly at two humans. I rebarricaded the place, then blew all my ammo on one and finished him off with my axe. The other I took a few swings at, but couldn't finish. I headed on back. I'm out of ammo yet again - I see a mall run in my future.

May 1, 2006

Had a bender last night. Found myself in the parking lot after killing a zed. I tried to get back inside, but got nibbled on first. Luckily I survived. Thanks to all those who healed me - You know who you are.

Just a quick trip around this morning. Nothing much to see. St. Wulf's and Cade were empty, while Wiles was wide open and had 2 zeds. I barricaded when I could, and gave a shout out to the gentlemen at my new safehouse. Stay safe.

I need to resupply, so I headed across the border into Shearbank and Stickling Mall. The place has been absolutely torn apart. It's like a ghost town. I found a pistol clip and a shotgun shell so far - less than promising return. Hoping for better results tomorrow.

May 2, 2006

Searching for stuff. Not much to say.

May 3 2006

Still at Stickling. Shot up a zed a bit. Trying to figure out when to head back.

Found me some first aid kits. The mall is practically deserted, and seems safe for now. My safehouse is playing guest to Vince Craven and Pope something or other, from some Malton Tours Inc. Apparently Craven is the building inspector, according to some magazine I found lying around the mall. The Pope is apparently Pope Beligerent I.

May 4, 2006

Dear god I'm a murder witness. This guy is the scum of the earth. I'm reporting him.

In other news, I am stocked up on pistols and shotguns, and will head back to Brooke Hills first thing tomorrow. I wonder how they've been doing without me. It can't be that bad, right?

May 7, 2006

Good to be back to Brooke Hills. Made a round today, killed a zed in the Dukes Building, shot up another in the Stoy Building. Found a book on the floor of the Portass Museum - it's called Vital Signs: How to Tell when it Hurts. Interesting reading. I'll be using some of this stuff when I patrol tomorrow. The science stuff is harder than I thought it would be.

May 8, 2006

Took a little trip around. There's a zed break in the Chap Building - only one though. PDs are relatively quiet. 2 zeds at my location currently, but I'm too tired to do anything. Healed some folks - out of FAKs. Still got an ok amount of ammo though.

Whee, the zeds at my place got cleared out. Went scavenging for ammo at the hospital - place looks like a graveyard. No luck looking for medkits. Oh well.

May 9, 2006

Wow, I graduated from the new DEM academy without even knowing it! I set off across Malton today, woefully supplied with little but a pistol and 1 medpack. I'm currently stopped over in Darvall Heights. My next assignment is in the (now evacuated) Dunell Hills area with the MCDU Kill Team. Maybe I should head over to Caiger Mall to resupply? On the way, a middle-aged woman shared some tips with me on how to find more stuff in malls. I hope to use it soon.

May 10, 2006

I'm at the famous Caiger Mall! I tried to stock up on some supplies, but my long trip left me too tired to do much. The Kill Team is spread out all over Chudleyton and West Becktown - Dunell Hills has been evacuated. I'll stay stocked and see what the scuttlebutt is. We're fighting a losing battle in Dunell. I hope we can stop this thing before it spreads.

Wow, am I packed! I've got so many medkits I don't know what to do with them. For the first time, I don't know if I can carry all this stuff. I got a knife, flares, pistols and shotguns galore. I might have to rent a van to drive me around Malton.

In other news, the situation in Dunell Hills is still wait-and-see. Most of the Kill Team is resupplying at one of the malls. We're hoping the zeds'll get bored eventually. You can only ransack so much, no matter how nasty you are, right?

May 15, 2006

Sorry about not writing for a while. I've moved out from Caiger and joined the rest of the squad. Got lost around Dunell, and stumbled around hoping to not get eaten - finally found my way to the safehouse (undisclosed location as always). Kill Team has set up operations into Dunell Hills. We need a plan to take back the suburb. Small scouting operations are being sent in. Hopefully we'll be able to extend a sphere of influence and safety into Dunell. I'll get a chance to burn all this ammo.

May 19, 2006

Ah, I keep on learning new things. So far I've found a book on noticing signs of disease, a first aid manual, and a fitness regime instructional book. I'm more fit and alert than I've ever been. I've been making scouting runs into Dunell Hills, killing zeds and barricading. I finally feel like I belong somewhere. On the walls of my safehouse is written "Home of Ed Exley's Wandering Warriors." I have an identity at last.

May 20, 2006

I headed into the Dury NT building and found seven or so zeds during my sitrep. After taking one out (and running out of ammo), I discovered a small leather book lying on the floor. The cover read:

NECROTECH OPERATOR FIELD MANUAL

ATTENTION: Only for the use of licensed NecroTech operators. all others are in violation of Federal Law 2293 Section C-12.

NOT TO BE USED AS A TRAINING MANUAL

So of course I went and used it as a training manual. Now I have some basic NT stuff down, like recognizing NT buildings and operating DNA extractors.

In other news, seems like I'm going to have to make another mall run - I'm out of ammo and medkits.

June

June 30, 2006

This is going to be a short section, seeing as how the month's almost over. A lot has happened since I last wrote. The leader of Kill Team advertised a position to lead Training Team, so I put my name in the hat. Turns out he was misinformed and they were merging Training Team into the larger DEM Academy. I was offered assistant leadership of the Kristi of the Dead Campus in the SE Division. Hell of a weird name if you ask me, but I figured the change of pace might do me good. First I had some other business to catch up on, though. Now I'm back. Hopefully I can keep up with all these young recruits.
