Zombies almost always check inside. Some are often used as literal fortresses, and are sometimes so heavily barricaded that it is impossible to enter without Free Running. Tagging a police station earns 2 XP. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point. Police Stations can be barricaded normally.

This is now where survivors are taking refuge. I,gamingforglory, am part of the "Creedy defense Force" and I will stay here and make this my home base until its ruined!

According to Barrville Barricade Plan this Police Department is to be maintained at Very Strongly Barricaded Levels to allow all survivors in the zone to enter and search for the valuable ammo.
