An extract from a journal written by an unknown survivor in Malton

…I don’t know if it was the need of others or the prospect of safety that cause zombies and humans a like to join together in so called “groups” or “hordes”. But none the less we banded together for the better or the worse.

Working together we are able to accomplish more than we could alone, we can coordinate towards the common goal of surviving and protecting others. The undead on the other hand appear to group together for the food that being with others provide or simply that there is more safety in numbers.

Thinking back since the beginning I feel that I have always felt the need to help others and though working with others we have always been able to do just that. Through this we can watch each others backs as we sleep… [The article ends mid-sentence]
