Death. Everyone goes through it at one stage. But to the denizens of Malton, death is not the same. If any had believed in an afterlife, either they lost hope in their religion or believed that becoming a zombie was an afterlife of sorts.

But in Malton, there isn't just one type of death, oh no. There are three. There is regular death, where someone dies. Simple.

There is "rotted" death, where the dead person can only come back to life if they are revived in a powered NT building. It happens to those that stay dead too long, their brains rotting away. Not so simple.

Lastly, there is idle death, where the dead do not move or make any action whatsoever. It is like they have turned into a statue, unable to go on, or unwilling. No-one understands how or why this happens, just that it does. It can even strike a healthy man down without notice. Some suggest they have problems with "RL", whatever that means.
