Something weird is going on and I think we need to talk about getting our teams out. The phone lines have finally gone down and I have no idea how long we are going to be able to email with the sat-phones.
Today around 3:30 the operating manager came in and said that we are stopping work and packing up to move to Krinks Power Station. Tolman Power Station is being evacuated and we are going to be gone in less than 18 hours.
Yesterday Dave and I were inspecting the induced-draft cooling tower bypass line and found another yet valve wielded shut and last night I had Rich check the feedwater water softeners and he found that someone had forced a steel rod in to the check valve. If we gone for a restart, that line would have failed the first time we went above 85%!
Someone had been working against us from the very start of the project. I told you that last week every one of our heavy duty vehicles was confiscated by the military didn’t I? Well 2 days ago all of our general purpose vehicles were confiscated too! No one has seen a working vehicle since then. This morning we heard a car racing outside the building but there was a screech of brakes and gunfire. When we got there the car had been shot to hell and the driver was gone. Some on the guys are starting to think that someone is destroying all the vehicles in the city!
I’ve got all the invoices and technical work backed-up and I’ll bring it with me. We are going to make a killing on this job on hours alone!! When you add in the mark up on supplies, we are set!!
I’ve got to go now…The medical team that came with our military escort is giving everyone vaccinations right now and I’ve got to go get my shot.
Like I said, something is going on here and it’s making everyone a little jumpy. The sooner you can me and the guys out of here, the better!.
