During the first few hours of the outbreak, not much happened, relatively speaking. Couple zombies passed my place out in the street, and no more than 30 deaths citywide. About a week in, once things really got going, it was awful. You'll never believe what I saw in Pole Mall on day 9.

A clinic had been set up in the food court for people who had been injured. There were about 30 people there, roughly 10 doctors, and I was one of the majority who were just there because it was better than staying home. I was on the first floor trying to find a camera store, when I heard a man screaming in the food court/clinic. Naturally, I got my camera ready and ran that way.

He was in from East Grayside, I found out from a guy I talked to later that he had lost his entire family when a group of zombies busted through the door while they were sleeping.

The guy was nuts. He had picked up a scalpel, and stood up on a bench waving it around, screaming at the doctors. I took several pictures. If we ever get out of this city, I'm hoping to put the government on a guilt trip by showing them what happened, and how they could have prevented it by evacuating us all sooner.

Several military people escorted the man and a few witnesses into a supply room. A NT tech followed them in carrying a needle and a couple bottles.

When I didn't see any of them the next day, I left as quickly as I could.
