History

The Beginning

After the Great Fire of 1912 many were left homeless and simply wandering the streets searching for a place to sleep. Capleton Library was opened up as a temporary homeless shelter by the city. Many angry librarians were forced to care for the people just ravaged by the fire. A month later, with many people filing out, the library was left in a messy state. Because there was a lack of beds, many people used books as make-shift beddings despite angry, rambling tirades from librarians. In a turn of events, the city had to shut the library down because of the ransacked condition of the building. The library thereafter became a headquarters for a group of friars simply calling themselves "The Poet's Society". Using the building's plentiful scrap paper and broken pencils, they wrote stanzas upon stanzas of poetry. The city eventually reclaimed the library and drove the friars out and made them turn their lives around. One of which became a manager of the first Dairy Queen in Dentonside. But their poetry remained in the building. When the repairs of the building commenced, they walled off the friars poetry reading room, a small room in the basement. All of their poetry remained in that basement, untouched for decades.

Re-Foundry

When the outbreak came, the Capleton Library was quickly abandonded. Because Dentonside was far from the outskirts of town, many civllians tried to make a break to get out of the city, leaving the suburb almost desolate. After rioting and inital zombie waves poured over, army vechicles and personel tried to reclaim the once peaceful city. A widely traveled road Davis Way was used as a main artery for travel of military vehicles and was the road Capleton Library was off of. On a rainy day 9 days after the outbreak made the road slick and the many potholes of the city invisble. One army truck carrying 100 pounds of TNT, which was on a mission to blow a bridge on the border, was critically hit by a pothole and swerved off the road directly into the wall of the library instantly exploding. This lead to a cave-in in the parking lot and the sewer below, more importantly destroying the cemented wall of the once forgotten poetry room.Waiting....

3 Years Later

I3rutal God And Blaise Coindell were holding out at Denner Towers, trying to keep it powered so people could communicate via cell phone. On a zombie rush they broke through ruining the building, forcing the two to fall back. Crossing a car park they went to the entrance of Capleton Library. In the dark of night I3rutal went to enter the building, but instead walked right into a giant hole in the parking lot. He landed right in the Poetry Room. Shaken, he reunited with Blaise and waited the night out in the once again ransacked library. In the day light he returned to the room and picked up the friar's work and read it. And continued to read it. He became obsessed with poetry. Trapped. He remade the Society. Calling it Malton Poet's Society. He found escape the the chaotic world, and was finally looking forward to tommorrow...

Current Objectives

Defending The Local Area

As the zombies swell higher than the waves in the Black Sea, the society looks to defend three local points: Capleton Library, Denner Towers, and Maney Lane Police Dept. Although the society prefers to end bloody conflicts in Malton, trying to dissuade zombies through poetry may prove to be difficult. So if the time comes for violence to prevent violence, the society will aid the effort of protecting the living.

Recruiting

As the society is new, its numbers is limited. And anyone is welcome to join after a small backround check (Pkers are NOT welcome in the society, no matter how much you wish to ammend your crimes, we are poets not Confessionists). Anyone is welcome to stop by the library to join up. Or you can post in the Discussion Page. Please don't post here.
