The Mayoral Election of 2010

Jorm has been declared Mayor of Malton for 2010!

Please do not vote on any candidates!

Malton has always had a rich and colourful history. In 1912, a Great Fire swept the city. In 2005, the city was over-run by zombies. But in 2007, the city chose to elect a new mayor to preside over the madness. That mayor was Murbulskond. For a time, Murbulskond ruled justly and impartially as Mayor. However, such a time of peace is over. And now, in their darkest hour, the people of Malton have decided to elect a new mayor. And so begins the Mayoral race of 2010...

Voting

Voting begins at 00:00 GMT on Tuesday 22nd June (01:00 BST). Each individual will be able to place one (1) vote in the election. Voting will close at 00:00 GMT (01:00 BST) on Tuesday 6th July, at which time the winner will assume office.

All votes must be cast using a hash (#) and a time-stamped signature (~~~~), meaning the only valid votes must be of the format #~~~~ or #Comment ~~~~. Invalid votes may be struck by any member, though the voter receiving the striking should be notified on their talk page.

Victory Speech

Delivered during dusk from a prepared statement. Copies of the speech have been made available to the press, voters, and all interested parties.
Well, it has been a fun ride. Thank you to everyone who voted. To all the harmans who voted for our distinguished opponents, we'll be seeing you later. But I think it is about time to let you all off the hook.

You see, everyone in this city is infected. You look out the window and call what you see out there "the walking dead", "corpses in denial". But in truth, it is you who are corpses in denial. If we kill you, do you not rise as a zombie? Death is the last great experience, and the city we are in is the only one where it is not final.

It therefore follows that we are all zombies. And who recognises the truth of the enlightenment found in death more than the man zambah who broke away from the biggest zombie group in the game because they loved harmanz too much?

Ladies, gentlemen, assorted ruffians, brigands, and riff-raff, the "Humanative Party" hereby forms a coalition with the Barhah Party and acknowledges that, as he says, Jorm is the Mayor of Malton.

The Voter Apathy Party indifferently declares this election a mild success.
