Zombies almost always check inside. Some are often used as literal fortresses, and are sometimes so heavily barricaded that it is impossible to enter without Free Running. Tagging a police station earns 2 XP. They are listed as a Tactical Resource Point. Police Stations can be barricaded normally.

This is a police substation which now serves Miskatonic University. The building was originally part of the Old Arkham sanitarium. Due to a massive fire, the eastern wing of the mental hospital was closed down. The cells and offices of the western wing are now used to house the McKay Lane Precinct.

2:19 PM 5/14/2009 You are inside McKay Lane Police Dept. The building has been extremely heavily barricaded.

A portable generator has been set up here. It is running, and powering a radio transmitter that's currently set to 28.00 MHz.
