It's absolute chaos. With the city locked down, police have institued Police Barricades everywhere. But there are certain areas like Barrville which no human may enter. These are the no-man's lands.

Back in WWI, a no-man's land was an area between the two opposing armies that had been bombed out, ruined, and devoid of any life. Soldiers leaving the trenches to attack the opposing side had to run across this sparse, muddy area while being shot and bombed.

A no-man's land, which, of course can mean an area deserted by humans, oficially means 'an area formally declared evacuated of all possible persons, and quarantined due to hazardous conditions involving an NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) compromise. An area designated as such must be sealed against all entry as best as possible, but must maintain at least one exit point to allow personnel who may be investigating the incident in and out of the area.' Found it while browsing the MPD handbook.

You can tell what areas were declared no-man's lands since they were very heavily enforced. Thick, sturdy timber sheets and logs found in warehouses were hastily set up to block streets, preventing those monsters...or humans...from escaping. Each no-man's only had one exit point. I say "exit" since there would be no entry into these areas.

One area I saw in particular, Wyke Hills, was very quickly declared a NML. The exit point had been shut closed and the MPD were shooting into the crowd of ghouls, trying to thin the crowd, since the monsters appeared to be breaking the barricades down. I saw a grey bus leaving the area.

I ducked into a office building today, found a medic. She was operating on a fellow cop. I helped as best as I could, and he seems like he'll make it.
