STARS Delta Squad is always aiming to make both East and West Grayside completely survivor safe.

Roles for members

  • Captain/Division Leader: Leader of individual Unit and Focuses as a Gunman. It is up to the captain of the group to decide the next course of action.
  • Medic: The medics job is as simple as it has always been; treating the wounds of teammates and survivors. Medics also run the purpose of maintaining revive points.
  • Primary Gunman: The lead sharpshooter of the squad.
  • Communications Expert: If the group gets a radio frequency of its own, it'll be up to the Communications Expert to maintain that frequency and send messages to group members and survivors across it.
  • Maintenance Expert: With tools and equipment, it is the Maintenance Experts job to keep buildings in good shape, nicely powered and well barricaded

Specialty-roles

  • Fire Hazard Expert: A 'fun' unit that specializes in dealing with fire emergencies, or fire zombies.
  • Backup Gunman: Just as the title says, the backup to the Primary Gunman and military force of the squad.
  • Read Guard: When STARS goes on to missions into other districts, it'll be up to the Rear Guard to stay behind when the operation is over, reporting to the group how things are going for a short amount of time.

Equipment:

  • Armament: All STARS Delta Team members are issued a modified Springfield XD handgun, nicknamed Berserker. The Berserker handgun is capable of rapidly firing 9mm rounds. A few of the members are also equipped with a Remington 1100 shotgun. Finally, each member is given a custom combat knife for use in close-quarters.
  • Uniform: Although with the breakdown of society there is no real stress on uniform, the standard apparel for the STARS Delta team is a pale blue short-sleeved shirt, police jacket, over just about any dark blue/black pants, and black boots. The flak jacket found frequently around Malton is an optional, but suggested, wear. The Fire Hazard Expert is expected to wear a Gasmask. Red T-shirt, Firefighters jacket/High Visibility Jacket, Pair of Red/yellow trousers, and black boots.
  • Other Equipment: It is recommended that each STARS member carries a flare gun to use in the worst-case scenario. A GPS and portable radio unit is issued to all STARS members, but it is up to their discretion if they use them or not. Binoculars are also offered to members, for scouting out various locations for safety and in missions. The Communications Expert is expected to be skilled in, and use, a radio transmitter in set locations. They can also use cell phones to directly contact other members of the squad. The Maintenance Expert is expected to carry at least 1 fuel can on them at all times, a portable generator, and a toolbox. The team Medic carries around an array of first-aid kits, DNA extractors, and Necrotech revivification syringes. The Fire Hazard Expert of the team is also expected to be capable of using a fire axe.
