Summary
Adding Data Guidelines
1. Use ~~~~ to sign your entries in the Sig field. If the data was not collected on the day it was recorded, use ~~~~ anyway, and then edit the date once you've saved it.
2. Always check your data to ensure that it is accurate before posting. Make sure you add up all your items + nothing searches to ensure that it matches up to the total number of searches you've recorded. Data that doesn't add up can't be used in data analyses, so try to make sure it's all accurate.
3. Ammunition level of found firearms is recorded in separate column for sake of easier processing. For example use Pistol (N) column for number of found pistols and Pistol (Q) for their quality (ammunition level).
4. To record condition statuses, use the following in the Building Condition field :
  • L - For a Lights on Condition
  • R - For a Ransack Condition
  • R(r) - For a Ransack & Ruined Condition
  • LR - For both Ransack/ruin and Lights on Conditions
  • N - For no Condition


Analysis

Note: this section may contain colclusions that are out of date

  • It's believed that search rates in lit, non-ransacked factories have 30% chance to find something, unlike 25% for most other locatin types. Possibly search odds in non-lit, non-ransacked factories also have 5% bonus (25% instead of 20%), but there's not enough data to be sure. Odds in ruined non-lit factories are about 10% and lit and ruined - about 20-25% (possibly equal to non-lit, non-ransacked status).
  • Searchs in lit factory most often reveal metal pipes (about 8%), less often generators, fuel cans and fire axes (about 5% each), more rarely crowbars and toolboxes (about 4% each)
  • After wirecutters were removed out of searchable items and toolboxes added, search odds for crowbars and fire axes were left on about same level, metal pipes - decreased, fuel cans and generators - increased.
  • Average AP to find generator in dark building is 26.3AP, in light - 19.2AP. Thus, lighting a factory cutts off 7.1AP from finding extra generator, which pays off after finding 4 generators. (i.e. if goal is to find more than 4 extra generators - setting up one is worth, 3 or less - not; Note that fuel cans and other resources are not taken in account here)
