St. Matthias's Church is located in south-western Dakerstown, next to border. Dakerstown's St. Matthias's Church shares the cemetery of Dakerstown with St. Danilo's Church, which is the second church in Dakerstown. Books tell that St. Matthias's Church is older than St. Danilo's Church.

St. Matthias's Church of Dakerstown has a colourful history. It was dedicated to Apostle Saint Mathias, who replaced Judas Iscariot after his suicide. The church has a series of catacombs running beneath its foundation; members of the clergy were interred here until the twenty-sixth bishop of Dakerstown chose to move burials to St. Danilo's Church's cemetary. The catacombs are currently inaccessible to survivors and zombies alike due to a cave-in.

The church caught fire nearly a century ago. A Malton historian describes the episode:

"Residents of Dakerstown woke in the dead of night to the sound of St. Matthias's church bells ringing madly. The church was aflame. It was a serious fire by the standards of the time, requiring several hours to extinguish, and in the process a firefighter as well as the altar boy who had originally signalled the fire with the church bells had died in the blaze. By the time the sun rose the following morning, the fire had been put out, but the early daylight showed how severe the damage to the church had been. The walls were carbon black, and the bell tower itself was on the verge of collapse."

Before the outbreak, St. Matthias's Church was a popular spot for weddings. Now largely abandoned, only beautiful stained-glass depictions of Jesus Christ and Saint Matthias draw visitors.

In accordance with the Dakerstown Barricade Plan, St. Matthias's Church should be kept as VSB and as an entry point for survivors with Free Running skill to enter Stobbart Walk Police Department, Jeffries, Freeth Auto Repair, and the a junkyard.
