Basic Info:
  • Churches have no internal descriptions.
  • Church doors do not close but can be barricaded shut.

There are 6 churches in the suburb of Yagoton. Three of these churches - St. Alexander's, St. Celestine's and St. Spyridon's - function as entryways into the buildings of Yagoton and beyond. Another one of these churches, St. Swithun's Church functions as a revivification clinic for Yagoton. Churches have no doors, but can be barricaded shut. However, under no circumstances is St. Swithun's Church to be barricaded. Looters may get lucky and find abandoned crucifixes, bottles of sanctified wine and medicinal supplies inside these churches. These churches have been defaced too many times and doing so earns no benefits.

St. Hugh's Church is a church with the coordinates [48,17], situated in the suburb of Yagoton. This is the one of the three churches in Yagoton that is to be extremely heavily barricaded.

Before the outbreak, the Church served also as an extension to the Rounsefell Library, housing several historical Christian artifacts including a copy of the Lord's prayer written on a pair of women's undergarments in the 4th century, supposedly to guarantee the chastity of the wearer. Since the outbreak, all artifacts that were housed in the church have been looted. It has been reported that the pair of undergarment with the Lord's prayer has been seen on the body Zaknrfama, the leader of the Neon Knights.

St. Spyridon's Church is a church with the coorindates [42,10], situated in the suburb of Yagoton. Prior to the outbreak, it served as a religious place for those shopping at Bale Mall and is connected by an underground walkway to mall. It is thus ideal after the quarantine to serve as an entryway into the mall. There is still a large supply of literature in the church and survivors in Yagoton occassionally find themselves preached to, not by the Disciples of Zeko, but by the Bale Mall Elite, particularly the faction associated with DonnieBaker. More recently, it has become home for one 'Brian Foley' who uses it to heal the wounded of the area, and to preach the good word to any that will listen.--Brian Foley 23:40, 3 September 2008 (BST)

[edit] History

The church were named after St. Spyridon, who were born in a peasant family around 270 AD. He entered a monastery shortly after the death of his wife. He is said to have saved both Corfu, which he is the patron saint of, and Venice from destruction.

St. Swithun's Church is a church with the coordinates [45,17], situated in the suburb of Yagoton. It functions as a revivification clinic. It is the major place for revivication in Yagoton, the other place for revivification in Yagoton is the Harkness Street Revive Point. Revivification services are provided mainly by the members of the Yagoton Revivification Clinic. They are assisted by the survivor group The Abandoned, who provide protection for the NecroTech technicians working at the clinic.

[edit] History

The church were named after St. Swithun, one of the early bishops of Winchester. Upon his death, he was buried outdoors, rather than in his cathedral, apperently on his own request. He had announced that he wanted the "sweet rain of heaven" to fall upon his grave. Roughly a century after his death, his body was moved into a new, indoor, shrine. The cermony required for this was delayed because of 40 days of constant rain, a sign of his displeasure at being moved. One of his patronages is the weather.

[edit] Barricading

According to the barricade plan drawn up by The Abandoned, St. Swithun's Church is not to be barricaded at all to ensure that patients seeking treatment can seek cover in the clinic. St. Hugh's and St. Godric's Churches are to be extremely heavily barricaded to ensure that these churches serve as places of refuge. The remaining churches are to only be barricaded very strongly. This is to ensure that those three churches function as safe havens for inexperienced survivors. The churches also serve as an entry point to other buildings in Yagoton for those with free running. This is in accordance with the Uniform Barricading Policy.
