St. Valentine's Cherubs

Despite being a short-lived group that undertook only a single action, the Cherubs stood at 60+ (non-zerging) members on the 14th of February, including nearly every organised PKer throughout the whole city. They were responsible for the massacre of over 250 people at Bale Mall, absolutely emptying it and putting the building firmly in the hands of the zombies. The collapse of the Mall was highly destructive to the Yagoton Revive Clinic, and followed Caiger to completely destabilise the entire Northwest- without the actions of the Cherubs, Malton may have taken a very different path in the following months.

It stands as a terrible warning to the survivors of Malton- don't let this massacre be forgotten. --Karloth Vois RR 17:18, 25 May 2007 (BST)

For

  1. Directly involving 300+ players (killers and killees) and indirectly affecting vastly more players, this group's actions were not to be missed. --Karloth Vois RR 17:23, 25 May 2007 (BST)
  2. Absolutely. An amazing display of the power of PKers. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 18:20, 25 May 2007 (BST)

  10. We came, we saw, we ate their Valentines' candy and shot the one's who complained. A first for Malton!--Headless gunner W! 04:23, 26 May 2007 (BST)
  11. This event united PKers and PKer groups who scattered across Malton, and the result of which was an entire mall getting destroyed by PKers, which had never happened before. This event should definitely be remembered. Flogging MollyTinywhitemask.GIFPK 04:14, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  12. I dont encourage Pkers but this was a grand event and took quite a big coordination plan so cheers for the planning and implementation. It shocked Malton when the word got out.. Me101 11:10, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  13. Oh come on, we wiped out a freakin' mall. The cherubs must be remembered. Sadie Mae 12:28, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  14. Completely worth being remembered. Pulling off this event was incredible and an event of momentus proportions!...I didn't just over sell this did I? Yea, this is important and needs to be honored as such. --A whale's vagina 13:16, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  15. Never heard of it since it fell in my inactive period. But it seems to qualify.--Vista +1 14:06, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  16. As I was not part of RR at the time, I feel I can objectively vote for this as For. I didn't participate, but I saw the aftermath. --Stranger 15:41, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  17. You darn well better keep this around. If a "Historical Events" Category is made, it can be moved there. Until then, keep it in historical groups. --SirensT RR 18:42, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  18. Bale Burning was such a beautiful sight. --Adrian Jeshua EN | T 17:02, 28 May 2007 (BST)
  19. Unfortunately I wasn't part of UD at the time, but damn those screenshots make my day =D -- Vigeous RHA 17:25, 28 May 2007 (BST)
  20. I was not at Bale when this occured, though I did make a tiny contribution to the event. I do not believe that ever before have the players of UD ever fully appreciated the potential and power of PKers before the Cherubs. -DT 20:14, 28 May 2007 (BST)
  21. From the looks of things, and considering the scope of the group's actions, they may be on the small side, but I think they deserve the historical group status. --Davurnium 17:27, 29 May 2007 (BST)

Against

  1. I don't think they did anything historical, neither something worthy of an honor such as historical status. What they did was already done by the Disciples of Zeko, and they also used zerg accounts as you can see on their own group page here. If the result of their actions, Bale Mall being shut down for a month, is historical... --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 01:00, 26 May 2007 (BST)
The Bills are a group of players with names that are intentionally created to take advantage of the I/l inclarity. They aren't zergs. Just so you know. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 03:38, 26 May 2007 (BST)
My mistake then. But my position on the other points stands. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 04:37, 26 May 2007 (BST)
The Disciples of Zeko killed some people, whereas the Cherubs killed the entire Mall and shut down the YRC entirely for months- there's little more that can be achieved in this game, short of the Mall Tours/ Bash. --Karloth Vois RR 16:28, 26 May 2007 (BST)
Karloth, as a part of the group I believe you're obviously biased towards engrandizing the group, as most of the credit you're gladily taking belongs to feral and some zombie groups that were attacking Yagoton at the time and not your group. I concede that you weakened Bale in such a manner that the fall was inevitable, but that you caused the downfall of the whole Yagoton, the YRC, and that your actions repercuted for whole months, seem more of an exageration to me than actual facts. And comparing yourself to the Bash... there's nothing funnier coming from a PKer! --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 18:24, 26 May 2007 (BST)
Matthew, I would dare say that the mall fell because of the PKers killing so many of the people within it. If you recall, this was before the change to encumbrance and is quite possibly the last official massacre of any PKing group. Check out the Cherub's wiki page. View the screenshots. The fact that you didn't know about Bill sort of speaks about how informed you actually are. --Stranger 15:41, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  2. I'd say this was more of a historical event... --MarieThe Grove on Tour 11:59, 26 May 2007 (BST)
True, but there is no "historical event" wiki category- until there is, is it really worth deleting historical events due to a technicality? --Karloth Vois RR 16:28, 26 May 2007 (BST)
I'd say wait two weeks till the policy has a chance to pass then submit it there, I don't reckon it'll get deleted in this time and then. --MarieThe Grove on Tour 11:50, 27 May 2007 (BST)
  3. I don't think this is any more important or historical than any of the million times a zombie horde has smashed a mall, to be honest.--Jorm 09:04, 28 May 2007 (BST)
  4. I was going to vote for, but since there is going to be a historical event section...--Labine50 MHG|MEMS|DHPD 03:48, 2 June 2007 (BST)
