St. Ethelbert's Hospital

There are two hospitals bearing the name St. Ethelbert's Hospital in the city of Malton. These were both run by the monastic order of St. Ethelbert the Restorer. The monks were originally desirous to expand the hospital, but citizens refused and turned the desired land into Henslowe Park. Undettered, the monks purchased a plot of land in East Becktown in 1947 and there built their hospital.
