20070618 Cripple

~m T! 04:02, 18 June 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Skill

Suggestion scope
Zombies with Rend Flesh

Suggestion description
Cripple would be a new skill under Rend Flesh. It would allow the zombie a new claw attack, named cripple, with base accuracy 10%.

A survivor hit by a Cripple attack is flagged as crippled. A survivor flagged in such way has his max HP reduced by 10 until the status is removed (So a survivor with body building will have a max of 50 HP, and a survivor without it will have 40 HP).

The crippled flag can only be removed by surgery (that is, by being healed by a survivor with the Surgery skill, on a powered hospital.

Note that the attack itself causes no damage, unless the survivor has more HP than his new max limit. Two cripples do not stack, either, so a survivor can't have all his HP denied in such fashion.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep - Author vote ~m T! 04:04, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep - I quite like this one. Makes a powered hospital more important in a suburb, and gives higher level zombies another way of making a nuisance of themselves -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 06:27, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep - Although I would prefer to see it as an upgrade to "Infectious Bite". Karek has it wrong- decreasing a survivors maximum HP doesn't have any immediate effect- so this is NOT a boost to the attack power of zombies. What it would do is make fully recovering from zombie attacks a bit harder- which is quite reasonable. For an idea of the impact of this suggestion, consider that during a mall seige "Crippled" survivors would either have to get by with only being partly healed (to 40 or 50 HP max, assuming they were below that already) or they would have to go to a hospital. But again, I say change the name to something like "Festering Necrosis" and make it an infection sub-skill. 12:14, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep - Am I the only one who would cackle madly if I contracted this? --Charley C. 15:46, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  5. Keep - Since survivors can do 10 HP damage w/ a shotgun, I don't really see this as overpowered. --ZombieSlay3rSig.pngT 16:56, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  6. Keep - Zombies need a buff already. This awesome skill would also make both Surgery and Hospitals useful! Yay! --Hhal 21:02, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep I am assuming this atttack benefits from tangling grasp. --Secruss 21:09, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  8. Keep This would be great, would add more flavor as well as making hospitals useful. Could possibly cost extra AP? --Tolthalan 21:38, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  9. Keep Great idea to make surgery more useful. And with 10% to hit it is NOT stronger than a shotty, which has 65% to hit.--KiT 21:52, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  10. Keep --Nikitis 01:16, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  11. Keep - Finally gives a use to hospital holding.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 06:05, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  12. Keep --Priz 12:14, 19 June 2007 (BST)
  13. keep - finally gives survivors a reason to hold hospitals user:androo the 2 9:53 19 june 2007 (BST)
  14. Keep - I like this. Makes surgery and hospitals more important. Also it seems like a good Zombie counterpart to survivor's "head shot" skill. One question: Is cripple in the Post-Revive-Syndrome catgegory (like Infectious Bite)? As long as it's not, then this is cool. -- Mordac the Refuser 00:38, 21 June 2007 (BST)
  15. Keep - Of course, other survivors should be able to see if someone's crippled, so they don't waste a First Aid Kit on them. --Midianian 21:20, 22 June 2007 (BST)
  16. Keep - This looks pretty good. Maybe you can have the chance of crippling increase as HP decreases or instead of removing the 10 AP just cap that you cannot recover above that limit if your health goes below. --Coco1993 02:17, 27 June 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - I really want to vote keep but my sensibility tells me that that is wrong. Zombies don't need a one time 10 damage attack.--karek 04:21, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - overpowered--Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 07:36, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  3. Kill - Way too powerful. --Fireman22 10:05 June 18 2007
  4. Kill - So, if a survivor has more than max hp - 10, the attack deals the difference in damage between current hp and max hp - 10? As in, anywhere from 1 to 10 damage? Overpowered and badly thought out. --Saluton 16:42, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - I'd rather just see Infectious Bite upgraded. --Sonofagun18 17:27, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - Way too overpowered. Survivors in certain areas are screwed. Way more powerful than a shotgun. I would have voted keep if the damage was 5 or 2. --Pvt De 18:30, 18 June 2007 (BST)
  7. Are you high?? - Honestly!!! You mean this can do anywhere from 1 - 10 damage, AND cripple them. Not only is it WAAYY to overpowered...but it requires a very unpopular skill to get rid of it!! How many people really HAVE surgery for crying out loud!! Contrary to popular belief, drugs are BAD FOR YOU man!! --Bruce Torbaron 02:14, 20 June 2007 (BST)
  8. Kill - To overpowered, a 1HP/AP attack if used on a fully healed character, that gives a semi permanent status that would cost a 10AP to 40AP round trip (depending on state of suburb.) to a powered hospital to get removed. And as it carries over the damage inflicted doubles per death. I really like the flavour but for it to work the tag should be removed on dead or revival. And possibly let it do per claw but let people keep the HP above limit.-- Vista  +1  19:48, 28 June 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill A auto 10 damage that you can't heal up again, until you get to a hospital? what? So that every zombie only has 40 health to deal? I'm a zombie and survivor and I think that's unfair. Padfu-Zomfu 05:31, 4 July 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam -As the kill voters, though those votes are misplaced... they should be DOWN HERE witht he spams. --AlexanderRM 17:34, 22 June 2007 (BST)
Can you please tell me why? ~m T! 04:54, 23 June 2007 (BST)
  2. Spam - It's too powerful, and would break the game in this form. Newbies without Body Building would be even more vulnerable to being killed once CRIPPLED, which would increase the chance of them getting bored with the game (they'd be lowest priortiy for being healed, since they help the least against the zombie threat). You haven't said whether they lose the CRIPPLED tag when they die, so that they aren't still crippled when revived (presumably they'd have to, because otherwise you'd have CRIPPLED zombies going around. Having the requirement to ONLY be cured in a powered hospital is also too powerful. armareum 12:17, 23 June 2007 (BST)
  3. Spam - Overpowered and deadly to those without body-building skills. --JudeMaverick Talk +1 Jobs 02:28, 30 June 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam - Vastly overpowered. --The Hierophant 14:08, 1 July 2007 (BST)
