20070628 Colorize Own HP if Infected

Suggestion description
Those characters who have the "scent death" skill know that the HP's of people present in a scene are colored green if that person is infected.

However, there is no way to know if you yourself are infected, except of course that you loose HP's if you are alive.

I suggest that (for all characters, regardless of skill or mortal status) your own HP total be colored green if you are infected.

This would be a helpful reminder to people who log into survivor characters that are infected who log into characters who are infected, a nice warning to people seeking revives that, once revived, they will be infected, and a handy indication to zombie players of whether they have the capacity to parachute or not.

  2. Keep - I can go with this--Seventythree 14:38, 28 June 2007 (BST)
  3. Can't you just look on the left side of the screen and see the words "INFECTED" if you are infected? And it's just below your HP? Still, a nice flavor change won't hurt anyone.--ShadowScope 14:40, 28 June 2007 (BST)
I'm not aware of any such thing. Could you post an IWrecord or screenshot that shows it? Maybe it only works for infected survivors; I find it hard to believe than none of my zombified alts I looked at to check this were infected, and also that not one zombie who has a record at www.iwrecords.urbandead.info is harboring infection! I'm guessing you actually have an extension that does this for you, and were not aware of that feature of the extension. . . . 15:22, 28 June 2007 (BST)
Actually, it works only for revived suriviors. They get the Infected tag in the surivior box. I sometimes get combat revived and see my new surivior having been infected, so I assume that has occured. Now I understand what you are suggesting. Though a note: not everyone uses firefox.--ShadowScope 15:48, 28 June 2007 (BST)
  4. it's written there and even bolded, but it's replaced by "dead" when in zombie form. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 17:06, 28 June 2007 (BST)
  5. Keep and/or change Perhaps this could be used for people with Diagnosis too? You'd think a doctor would be able to identify someone infected. --DrBowman 17:50, 28 June 2007 (BST)
  6. Keep - Useful, and doesn't do any damage to anything else.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 18:02, 28 June 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep - that could be usefull. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 18:08, 28 June 2007 (BST)
  8. Even tho people pointed this is not really needed, it doesn't make it bad. ~m T! 18:34, 28 June 2007 (BST)

  11. Excellent idea. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:15, 29 June 2007 (BST)
  12. Keep -Useful info for both survivors, and parachuting zombies-- Che -T GC X 09:58, 29 June 2007 (BST)
  13. Keep - A simple change to help players realise when they are infected. A survivor who is infected can already tell, but since this would cross over to a zombie, it'd show them if they were infected - only useful for zeds looking to get revived and not being infected. If a survivor uses a FAK on an zombie before they revive them, they will rise without infection, IIRC. armareum 21:56, 29 June 2007 (BST)

  15. Keep - This does matter to some zombies, for parachuting purposes, and for purposes of choosing a revive point (preferably the closest option to an available source of FAKs, if you have none and are infected). I disagree with people with Diagnosis being able to see other people's infections, though - Diagnosis already works in both forms and costs 100 xp less to get, leave something for Scent Blood to be useful for. --Mold 13:55, 10 July 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Sorry, this is not needed. You can just see the "You are <insert name here> and you are INFECTED! You have X HP and X XP and X AP" thingies on the left side of the screen. --Bruce Torbaron 17:03, 28 June 2007 (BST)
Try playing a zombie, and telling me how you know if your zombie will be infected or not when he gets revived. . . . 01:46, 29 June 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Its already in the game - If you're infected it says in the corner you're infected, by the HP and XP. And it doesn't matter to a zombie whether they're infected or not because theres nothing they can do about it anyway. --MarieThe Grove on Tour 18:03, 29 June 2007 (BST)
  2. Above. But if it's not there, get Firefox and UDTool. It might be there... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 22:44, 8 July 2007 (BST)
