Suggestion description
By now we all know, when searching around, we find a lot of newspapers. There have been a few really good suggestions regarding the content thereof, but I would like to suggest this: Newspaper Printing Buildings.

In each of these Newspaper Buildings, there will be an option to print newspapers, whether powered or not. The printed "story" will operate similar to graffiti, in regards to setting the Building to print. Like graffiti, it will be overwritten by a more recent addition. It will cost one AP, and will not require any items. 255 character limit in the story. A profanity filter may also be wise.

If the building is powered, and someone reads a newspaper, there will be a chance (10 percent, maybe?) that the story inside will be one being printed in said building. Due to Malton not having wide dispersal of newspapers after the zombie apocolypse, only the suburb the Building is in, and any adjacent suburbs will have a chance at recieving a newspaper from the building. The buildings will be spread around (10 in total?), so that most of Malton will have newspaper coverage.

  1. Keep Author Vote: Give some currently useless Buildings an additional use, and add some more delicious flavor to the game. --Druuuuu 23:27, 10 July 2007 (BST)

  3. Keep Not bad.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 23:38, 10 July 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep - Increase the chance of the paper having a message from the building, as no one would spend 10 ap points looking for one message. I'll definitely keep then. Vault 23:40, 10 July 2007

  12. Keep - Love it, but I'd want a few more than 10 of the buildings and like Vault said, higher search chance. Teleport 22:56, 11 July 2007 (BST)
  13. Keep - Yeah! ~m T! 02:45, 12 July 2007 (BST)
  14. Keep - Nice. Although you might want to call it Printing factory or Newspaper Factory. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 06:08, 12 July 2007 (BST)
  15. Keep - Interesting way to get a general feel for people and keep content fresh and interesting.--karek 10:07, 12 July 2007 (BST)
  16. KEEP This sounds great. But i hope it won't cause lots of spam --RayHanley 06:34, 14 July 2007 (BST)
  17. Extra extra! Free newspapers in the printing building! Come and get it! (Read above votes) --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 18:13, 16 July 2007 (BST)
  18. Keep - That litter has to come from somewhere. --Heavy DDR 23:01, 16 July 2007 (BST)
  19. Keep, but I'd prefer that it cost more than 1 AP, and have a greater chance of being found... Although I'm pretty sure I wouldn't read them, anyway. Spending AP so I can read somebody's spam? No thanks. But if it keeps the losers off the fucking radio, I'm all for it. Grant 15:22, 18 July 2007 (BST)
  20. Keep - Make it cost more than 1 AP and I'm in. Actually, scratch that. Would it be possible to have a system where the new ones are more common and the old ones (up to 10 ago) are rare? That'd be cool, although perhaps you should have it as an item of 1% encumberance that you can choose to read. --DrBowman 18:22, 19 July 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill -- I can see it now: You are standing outside a warehouse, a narrow concrete building, its windows missing and broken. The building has been very strongly barricaded. Somebody has spraypainted Are you my Mommy? onto a wall. There are 5 zombies here, one of which is handing out leaflets for the local "Zgr!p Barn." or Neelix said: "As self-appointed morale officer, I'm interviewing people for my daily UD Newsletter. Any takers? (5 hours ago)... and again (4 hours, 59 min. ago)... and again (4 hours, 58 min. ago)... and again... --Firemanrik 00:52, 12 July 2007 (BST)
  2. Make it cost more than 1 AP, prehaps having an item. Otherwise, VERY IMPORTANT articles will be overwritten rather quickly. I made a similar suggestion, having people create flyers by using books and newspapers in powered Libraries, but it was voted down for causing a lot of spam.--ShadowScope 20:30, 21 July 2007 (BST)
