20070713 Kevan's New Game Balance Suggestion

Suggestion type
Balance Change

Suggestion scope
Kevan

Suggestion description

Who controls Game Balance? Kevan. Everything really is up to him. Kevan is God.

And, as God, I would like to make a prayer to him. This game really doesn't feel like a zombie apoc, more like a Trenchie Amusement Park. On the other hand, once Suriviors reach a critical level, they can really suffer and the game could just collaspe. So, game balance is key. Kevan knows that quite well and does so quite well, changing variables in a hidden method.

The problem is that Kevan's ratios seem quite off. Zombies never get higher than 53% before the inevitble drop-off, and then Zombies get as lower as 43% before Kevan, in his right mind, would buff them. Here's a better way.

Kevan starts by having buffing the zombies' ratio around 60%. This will allow for zombies to do much chaos and mayhem, creating a situation similar to an actual zombie apoc. Once that happens, then Kevan can lay back on the ratio, allowing for the Zombies' ratio to fall to as low as 40%, to allow for suriviors to have the illusion that they are winning the conflict. The game therefore act on cycles, on the Zombies' turn to win, they would feel great, as they would compose of 60% of the population. On the Suriviors' turn to win, they will feel great as the zombie population seem to be down to only 40%, with all the Mrh Cows revived and ready to battle...

Overall, what I am stating is that Kevan should use his game power to cause unbalance for both sides in equal intervals (one side gets 60% people). This will lead to balance in the long-term, and overall, leads to fun. After all, at the end of the day, it's the Z-H ratio that really determines who win the war. Kevan got the power to make both sides feel like they are winning. Why not use it? So, let this prayer to Kevan be heard.

  3. Spam - Nothing here really, other than a way of telling Kevan to do his job.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 09:10, 13 July 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam This isn't a suggestion. It's a list of complaints. ZOmbies and humans are roughtly balanced, and don't say that zombies are no fun to play as, cos I recenly started my first zombie character and it's great fun!--Seventythree 09:20, 13 July 2007 (BST)
  5. Spam - the percentages don't matter much anyway because they don't take into account the number of zeds who only want to be harmanz and thus stand at revive points instead of brainz. Also PKers and death cultists shouldn't really count for the harman side! All this would do is annoy 10 people who want to play as survivors while possibly making 1 try being a zed!--Honestmistake 10:33, 13 July 2007 (BST)
  6. Spam - What is this? A fluff piece? I mean, this is chatter... something for discussion. Not a suggestion. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:39, 13 July 2007 (BST)

  8. Spam - As all above, PLUS the numbers give (60/40 either way) are in fact quite close to what the historic records shows as the games "swing" in balance. . . . swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 13:56, 13 July 2007 (BST)
