Suggestion type:New skill:Desperation

Suggestion scope:Humans

Suggestion description:

Has there ever been a time when you are getting attacked, and you run out of ammo. Yep, that sucks. But the worst thing is you dont got any melee weapons because none of them are any good. Well, at this point you might be worse than dead.

Humans are finding themselves in a lot of tight spots lately, so they are finding weapons out of everything. As a last act of desperation, they are throwing items at attacking zombies.

Guns, toolboxes....anything that a zombie cannot use, or that is used to heal/revive. Once it is thrown, it is gone till you find a new one.

For a gun, the chance of hitting is 5x the encumberence.

  • Pistol=20% for 3 damage
  • Shotgun=30% for 5 damage

The gun must be empty.

You can not throw melee weapons. They can still be used to attack.

For a useful item, it is the same as the encumberance.

  • Binoculars=4% for 2 damage
  • Fuel Can=10% for 3 damage
  • Tool box=16% for 5 damage

Art is too fragile, an will not do any damage

For useless items, it is 10x the encumbrance

  • Book/Poetry book=20% for 2 damage
  • Crucifix=20% for 2 damage
  • wirecutters=40% for 2 damage

WARNING:Crosses are NOT ninja stars. Newspapers are too light to throw, they will just flop to the ground. Generators and Radio transmitters are too heavy to pick up.

Keep

  1. Author vote - In a real zombie apacolypse, people would use what ever they can find as weapons. =Doc Crook 04:03, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep - I see this is going to be shot down, and it is sort of a dupe, but I like the idea. I look forward to seeing a revised version of it sometime. --Pdeq 17:47, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep You should make crosses like ninja stars. That would kick so much ass. "Secruss threw a cross at you for 2 damage. You die." --Secruss 04:17, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Keep I would'nt throw my gun... But this is kinda a good idea! Lower the damage, But make it impossible to miss... Because you can only do this once.

Kill

  1. Change Workable, but way too accurate! BoboTalkClown 16:54, 24 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Change People will say this is a dupe, however, you've done some good work on this and I beleive that this could be made into a good suggestion. As far as I am aware, no-one else realy went into as much detail. Please, bring this to Discussion and we can alll leave you some feedback on it.--Seventythree 07:35, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Change - Exactly as Seventythree. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 09:53, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Change - Largely as above. Also, I'd like to be able to throw Generators and Radio Transmitters. After all - if you're strong enough to free-run between buildings whilst carrying these objects, wouldn't you be also able to hurl them at people if necessary? -- Pavluk 10:37, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Throwing stuff would be fun...-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 10:45, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  6. kill - golf clubs, crowbars, pool cues, etc.... these are the improvisational weapons that already exist. what makes more sense to me is a very simple change somethine like allowing you club someone with an empty gun for slightly more damage than a punch, but with a chance of frelling the gun up, but has probably already been rejected, too. --WanYao 11:27, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Change As seventythree... but I dont think you'll ever shake off all the dupe votes.--Wooty 17:02, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Change - As above and can we throw them at surivors too- it would be good for RPing... --MarieThe Grove on Tour 13:26, 16 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Kill Sorry bud, but in a real zombie infestation, a human without ammo or melee weapons is in fact screwed. This ability is only minimally useful in rare situations. The vast majority of the time it will just be another annoying and almost never-used button. I greatly appreciate the effort and detail you put into the suggestion. Please keep suggesting. --Kazakum 03:09, 30 August 2007 (BST)

Spam/dupe

  1. Dupe - this, or maybe this...—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Duke Garland (talkcontribs) at an unknown time.
  2. Dupe -this and this, both provided by Duke.--Karekmaps?! 09:48, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Dupe --Midianian 11:19, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Dupe -- As above per Duke and Karek --Ryiis 18:21, 15 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Dupey Spam - Throwing has been brought up before (see above). Also, 5 damage is WAY too much for such an improvised attack. 3 damage is STILL too much. 1 or 2 might be reasonable, but instead of throwing your gun or whatever, why not just run away? --Steakfish 00:21, 16 August 2007 (BST)
Yes, it does need some tweaking, I will work on that. Also, did the people who suggested it go into this much detail? No. Did they post this many things to chose to throw? No. And you might want to throw something to help the people that are still in the building, getting the zombies attention... =Doc Crook 02:57, 16 August 2007 (BST)
