20070826 Muzzle Loader

by John Basil at 02:36, 26 August 2007 (BST)

Suggestion Type-New item

Suggestion Scope-Survivors

suggestion description-To add more flavor to the game and some more meaning to museums, I think that inside the museum you should be able to find old fashoned muzzle loader muskets, powder, and shot. If you search the museum you would have a 4% chance of finding a musket(6% with Generator) and a 10%(13%) chance of finding powder and shot when searching the museum.

The musket will have a base accuracy of 10% and it will do 12 damage. When the user aquires basic fire arms training that accuracy goes up to 20% and can not be raised any further with any other skill from the skill tree. the musket will take one AP to load and one AP to fire. The musket can only hold one round at a time. The musket will have and encumbrance of 6% and the powder and shot will have an encumbrance of 2%.

The antique muskets that would be found in museams are not really built for excessive use, it would break after 5 uses, it would appear in your inventoy as "New Musket" if not yet used, "Used Musket" if used once, "Weatherd Musket" if used twice, "Battered Musket" if used 3 times, "Barely functional Musket" if used 4 times, and "broken musket" if used a fith time. The Musket will stay in your inventory as broken untill discarded or repaired. After the musket is broken it can be fixed with a tool box since most tool boxes include cleaning oil and small screw drivers and other small tools that could be used to fix the musket. Anyone with a tool box can fix a musket.

If you are shot with the musket and have a flack jacket on the flack jacket will absorb 3 points of the 12 damage

I think this novelty weapon will not unbalance the game but will add some much needed flavor, a new use for museums, and a new use for the ever encumbering toolbox.John--John Basil 03:16, 26 August 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Why bother coding an item that you might as well immediately put on the "don't pick up" list? Though i will say that i know somewhere between 6 and 30 people who can handle a muzzle loader (not sure how many are LICENSED to handle said muzzle loader... but i doubt the ATF is that worried in Malton) but then re-enactment gives you abnormal friends. Still doesn't make this a good idea. --Bahhab 10:03, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill/Change - Maybe if you remove the breaking aspect and give it a chance (something like 20%) of blowing up in your face, for the same 12 damage. Also, you really think a musket is more accurate/intuitive to use than a modern pistol or shotgun (10% base vs. 5% for pistol and shotgun)? --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 11:06, 26 August 2007 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - Poorly written, poor spelling, barely any formatting. Another gun. Not to mention the faulty logic. And a broken template. Whoa. --Druuuuu 03:23, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Smite If whoever made this is still around, you may want to consider:
    flak jackets
sign with your sig (or maybe not...)
Put the suggestion in the right format
    the gun skill tree
    search rates with generators
    Never reproducing
leaving our wiki --Secruss 03:27, 26 August 2007 (BST) <--Sig
  3. Dupe A very poorly written dupe of the 3542356423 muzzle loader suggestions. --User:Axe27/Sig 03:35, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Spam - As above. --Saluton 04:55, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Dupe - As Kamden. Again, multiply by a billion. I'll say here what I said to the last musket suggestion: how many people in a given city could handle a muzzle loader? While we're at it, should we add percussion cap and pin-fire weapons? It just gets too complicated.--Jiangyingzi 05:07, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  6. ITs a dupe, I'm afraid But Secruss? Chill out mate.....--Seventythree 09:35, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Dupe - Don't be an ass Secruss. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:37, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Spupe - a spamtastic dupe of this bad idea. -- Pavluk 15:38, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Spam/Dupe - Using Pavluk's link above - already suggested suggestion. As well, very spammy - Ryiis 17:36, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  10. Spam - as above. and above. and above that. --WanYao 19:21, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Duplication As Ducis, I wonder why people love to get off on insulting new people in suggestions. Unsigned The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 09:39 27 August 2007 (BST)
  12. Spupe - Sorry, it's VERY hard to make a suggestion for a new weapon that isn't a dupe and is also worthwhile. Most people feel that more weapons would just clutter up searches, since there are only 4 worth carrying (pistol, shotgun, axe, and knife). To avoid Spam votes, a new weapon suggestion has to be at least as usefull as those 4 weapons, while also being different enough that it's not just a clone of something that's already in the game. --Steakfish 22:26, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  13. Dupe - And no more damn gun suggestions.--Karekmaps?! 00:12, 27 August 2007 (BST)
