20070828 If Many Zombies Wear The Same Clothes, They Get Noticed.

  T   21:28, 28 August 2007 (BST)

Suggestion type
Flavour.

Suggestion scope
Area descriptions.

Suggestion description
When a number of standing zombies in a block (at least three and at least 20% of the zombie population in that block) are wearing identical clothes, it is mentioned in the area description, like so:

"There is a group of nine other zombies here. Seven of them are wearing a Malton Zoo T-shirt and a monocle." (or whatever)

The idea is to allow zombie groups to choose a distinctive visual identity for fun, and perhaps to alarm survivors. Obviously if a group doesn't want to be noticed they can wear differing clothes.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep - but only if it applies to survivors as well. Sounds fun. -- Pavluk 21:36, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Keep - Yeah, sounds okay. I agree with Pavluk though, it should work for a group of survivors as well. --Ryiis 22:05, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Keep - Sure, uniforms are fun. Although it would have to be the exact same outfits, not just some of them. And only the biggest group (over ten) should be mentioned, not all of them or that could get confusing.--Insomniac By Choice 22:21, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  4. keep - server load apart i gotta say that if a group go to the effort of dressing EXACTLY the same they probably want people to notice! However if you make this a skill "wear group colours" then it would possibly make it easier to program and mean you actively chose to look distinctive! --Honestmistake 23:15, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Keep - Make it only the largest group and it's good. --Thelightguy 23:52, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Huh - Simple, yet good. Like houmous.--Seventythree 23:56, 28 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Keep - because you mentioned the zoo.--'BPTmz 00:42, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  8. Survivors too - It should apply to survivors too. BoboTalkClown 01:10, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  9. Survivors Too? "You are in Giddings Mall. Here you see 187 other people, 187 are wearing trenchcoats." --Secruss 02:51, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  10. Keep - Awesome, it will make it easier to distinguish between certain zombie hordes. --Private Mark 03:16, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  11. Survivors Too, although most certainly there'll too ften be something like "most of them wear black boots" --~~~~T''' 09:49, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  12. Keep/change to effect survivors - Good idea but it should display for survivors.Studoku 12:18, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  13. keep - as with Secruss. =Doc Crook 12:53, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  14. Keep Brilliant. I agree it should also apply to survivors. --Jon Pyre 15:53, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  15. Keep - As Jon Prye. --Sonofagun18 16:10, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  16. Keep - I like the main idea... lets run it by Kevan.--Wooty 16:36, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  17. Keep - This could result in quite a few chuckles: "There is a horde of 57 zombies here. 40 of them are wearing green ballgowns, black cassocks, steel toe-capped boots, 3D glasses, and fireman's helmets." --Hhal 20:25, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  18. Keep - Sounds fun, I agree with others though, let survivors have it too.--DonTickles 21:21, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  19. Keep/Change -A llow survivors to have the effect, too. --Howard Bentley 22:18, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  20. Keep - It's logic would be that the zombies worked in the same place, and had the same uniforms, thus they stick together after death. Very nice. --Abi79 AB 17:05, 31 August 2007 (BST)
  21. Keep - Author vote. --Toejam A Stats Graph 05:34, 10 September 2007 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Just because some groups have uniforms survivors shouldn't get an easier time of seeing which zombies are which, also think of the spam.--Karekmaps?! 22:37, 28 August 2007 (BST)
Spam? its just going to say what people are wearing the same clothes in the top, not it the actions. Alot like if you see a dead contact or group member --Kaynex 01:03, 29 August 2007 (BST) Non-author re The preceding signed comment was added by boxy (talkcontribs) at 10:01 29 August 2007 (BST)
  2. Kill - Not needed. if you want to see what zombies (or survivors) are wearing, look in their profiles. --Saluton 03:25, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  3. Killl - Not realistic - zombies are not fashion conscious - they're not gang members. --Pgunn 03:27, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  4. Medium-Rare Kill -- Well, some zombies in this game actually ARE fashion conscious, a select few even sporting bimb habbz. And even organised. And some even talk, sorta. And dance. A point at their manbagz. And sing karaoke. Etc. etc. Nonetheless, I agree with the comments already made against it... it's a nifty idea, but in practice, naaah. --WanYao 16:20, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  5. Kill - Stupid and useless. --Druuuuu 18:19, 29 August 2007 (BST)
  6. Kill - I am sure you know that zombies (while being zombies) can only choose their clothing once. The clothing choice for zombies is quite limited. If this is implemented I suppose a lot of zombies will start looking for revives just to dress up, which is out of game and outright pointless. Zombies should eat brains, not go shopping. -- John RubinT! ZG FER 09:11, 30 August 2007 (BST)
  7. Kill - as pgunn-- Vista  +1  12:34, 4 September 2007 (BST)
  8. Screw it. I'm not giving a reason for the rest of my votes in this spree.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 17:13, 9 September 2007 (BST)
