20071124 Necrotech Technition

Acoustic Pie 19:35, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Skill.

Suggestion scope
Humans.

Suggestion description
This is a skill which can only be purchased after you have aquired all of the Necrotech skills, and it's cost is relative to which group you are (Military, consumer etc.) and it allows you to view something such as: (Obviously different suburbs will vary with the tiles shonw here, as this is only an example)

Draghty1.JPG

Instead of your normal necrotech scanned picture of the suburb. The differences are that it shows the other NT buildings in the suburb with little squares in the top right hand corner. Respectively you have:

  • Yellow - For a powered NT building
  • Black - For an unpowered but not ruined building
  • And Grey - For a ruined building (powered or not)

Also it would increase the size of map viewed from 9x9 to 11x11 because as a technition you know how to make a larger image available to you. Please do note that the 11x11 image is not shown in the example picture above.

So overall this will only affect the Access Necrotech bit and what you see in the images that comes up.

Thank you, and to those who didn't know, when viewing an area the NT you are viewing it from is always in the middle, which is why it is 11x11 instead of 10x10 as if it were, there would be four centre blocks.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep - Author Vote - Also special thanks to those who helped on this suggestion in the talk page! Especially Rosslessness for his image. Acoustic Pie 19:37, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Keep - You might want to make it clearer that it effects Necronet in the suggestion wording, though. --Howard Bentley 19:43, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Done. Acoustic Pie 19:48, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep - if you decrease the range a bit maybe 5x5 MAX , but its a good suggestion overall Anti gorefest5 --anti gorefest5 20:04, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  4. Keep -More skills please, and anti gorefest, the range is already 9x9. --AlexanderRM 22:14, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. Keep- More skills! I like skills! --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 23:00, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  6. Keep/Change - Same reason as below (I'd like to see it detect power instead of ruin), but I'd also settle for this one as written. --Uncle Bill 23:06, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. Keep I like it... --Secruss 23:59, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Keep - New scientist skills? Absurd! BoboTalkClown 00:14, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  9. Keep/Change As Uncle Bill and Funt. Waterspark2 7:16, 24 November 2007 (EST)
  10. Keep/Change - Great suggestion, but allowing detection of ruined buildings may make it a little too powerful. Maybe allow for detection of ruined buildings to an extent, say 5x5 area, or make it so the ability to detect ruin costs extra AP (1 AP to scan, 3AP to scan for ruined too). Otherwise, i really like this. --Kikashie ELT 00:20, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  11. Keep/change - As Funt. Studoku 01:35, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  12. Keep Well, then, Swiers, Upgrade your network. Better yet, hack the think into submission. And how would it detect Ruin? Well, what ever happened to the secret back room of an NT facility? You know, behind that wall that you have to hit just right to move? Probably some sophisticated sensor equipment. ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 04:12, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  13. Keep - Interesting, but yea, how would a computer detect ruined buildings? --Private Mark 07:19, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  14. Keep - as above --~~~~ [talk] 11:41, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  15. Ch-ch-ch-changes - to powered. I like this a lot, though. --Karloth Vois RR 15:28, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  16. Change - Lose the detect ruin bit and it's a keep--SeventythreeTalk 15:47, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill/Change - I like the "powered or not" part of it. I don't like the "ruined or not" part, and I think that extending the range is overpowered, given the amount of players who could instantly upgrade. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 19:47, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Killange - Exactly what Funt said.--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 20:00, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. As Funt - Detecting ruin vs unpowered seems hard to justify (and overly useful) as does extending the range. The range limit is more likely due to the nets capabilities, not the user's. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 20:40, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
On further thought, if the NN map just were updated to show powered NT buildings in range, that probably doesn't merit a new skill. Its a good idea, but could be rolled into the existing NecroNet Access skill. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 04:33, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  4. I suggest that you withdraw it and change as suggested above. - Whitehouse 15:53, 24 November 2007 (EST)
Can you please tell me what the template is for saying i should take it off for revision? Thanks --Acoustic Pie 18:22, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill the Ruin detection plus high range is too much. I'd support a skill that detects powered (or not) buildings. CharonX 21:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  6. Kill - As Funt. Omega 23:23, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. Kill - Majority is alright, but detecting ruined buildings? Silly. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 00:40, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Kill - ^ -- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 16:21, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  9. As Funt - He so smart ^^ --/~WOOT~\ 19:21, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - I am going all the way and calling this SPAM because the ability to see Ruin status from afar is utterly effen BROKEN. And making the ability part of the NecroTech skill chain makes it patently ABSURD. Revealing NT power status I can see, because all you would have to do is ping the network terminals to see if they are online... But ruin status? ridiculous. --WanYao 00:02, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  2. Spam - Ultra long range binoculars? No, thank you! -- John RubinT! ZG FER 08:44, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
