20071202 Automatically Parse Links In-Game

Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 02:44, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Improvement to the interface.

Suggestion scope
When speaking, broadcasting, or spraying graffiti.

Suggestion description
In the game settings, there will be an option to automatically parse links in-game (set by default to disabled). When enabled, whenever someone speaks, broadcasts over radio, or spray-paints a link, that link will be clickable. This will be for the convenience of not having to copy/paste the link and simply clicking it instead. With clickable links, group pages, revive request sites, forums and other important information are a bit more easily accessible.
Don't complain about toggleable crap. How often do you create a character and have to change the settings anyway?

Keep Votes

  1. Keep- I like clicking links, don't you? --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 02:45, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  2. Keep - Ok. Sure.--  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 03:54, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep - If I have the firefox script, why should I give a shit about other people? BoboTalkClown 04:21, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  4. Weak keep - Ctrl+C & ctrl+V are simple enough but this would help.Studoku 10:41, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V are simple enough. There is no need to add complicated rubbish for what a one armed child can already do. Antitribu 03:26, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  2. Kill - Will lead to spam. --Pgunn 07:47, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  3. Kill - could lead to all sorts of troublesome griefing links. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 11:14, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  4. Kill - no in-game goetze or MLM links... i.e. what funt said. --WanYao 16:05, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill -this is not utterly realistic..and I like the RP aspect in this game --the wallaby 16:13, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Incomplete - Cause the last sentence or so really confuses things, do you do it once at character creation or is it toggle spam? And if so what does it add to the game aside from something that pops out at you and muddies the look of the player interface?--Karekmaps?! 02:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  2. Dupe of Greasemonkie's "linkify" script and other similar browser features. Not saying its a bad idea, just that its such a good idea there are other ways to do it already. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 03:23, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Oh. Em. Ge. That is so awesome! Thanks for providing the link! --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 03:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
  3. Dupe - As Swiers, and I put one like this in the talk page a few months back, and everyone said it would lead to spam and 'bad links'. Still I thought it was a good idea at the time. Acoustic Pie 10:54, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
