20080112 Item Stacking

Suggestion type
Inventory interface.

Suggestion scope
Survivors.

Suggestion description

I have been playing Urbandead since 2005, and there has always been something which has bugged me. If you have alot of items, there are just so many bars which make things confusing, so here is my suggestion:

When you get an item, it will 'stack' onto an item of the same type in your inventory. For example, say you have 3 Pistol clips, there will be only one bar saying 'Pistol Clips 3'. When you loot a fourth one, it will change to 'Pistol Clips 4'. It will not effect encumberance

The items which will be affected by this could be:

Shotgun Shells

First Aid Kits

DNA Extractors

Revive Syringe

Wine and Beer

Spray Cans

Flare Guns

This will not effect encumberance.

Keep Votes

  1. keep very similar to the linked suggestion but this is slimmed down to only include the items its likely to effect. More important to me is the fact that the last suggestion was made well over 2 years ago and received almost total support then. I just can't see any good reason for this not to be in the game? --Honestmistake 13:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Keep - I use Firefox and the UDTool at home so this usually isn't a problem for me, but sometimes I play from a computer that I don't own (read: at work), and we don't have Firefox. --Uncle Bill 14:48, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep - Not all of us have FireFox. --Hhal 16:02, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Keep - Sorry dude, but not all of us have FireFox. -- BoboTalkClown 16:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  5. Keep - If UDTool can do it this easily, then the game as a whole should. --Heretic144 17:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  6. Keep - I use UDTool to do this already, but it would be nice if everybody (particularly newbies) could have the ease of use without having to know about and look for an obscure Firefox extension. Also, obviously there are many people who don't use Firefox. --Kramer 18:03, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Sorry dude, but we already have UDTool for this. --Private Mark 15:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Dupe - And if you want this functionality, you can get one of the browser-plugins, like UDTool or UDToolbar. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 12:47, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Dupe - I was fairly certain it was a dupe but couldn't find a link.Studoku 12:49, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. Dupe - Link provided above. Edited to add: Reading through that page makes me cry at how the suggestions page used to be. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 13:57, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Dupe - that same one's also in here in Peer Reviewed, alongside many similar. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 16:02, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
