20080203 Septicaemia

Cheeseman W!RandomTalk 14:57, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion type
New Skill

Suggestion scope
Zombies

Suggestion description
Basically, this skill will appear in the Digestion tree and have Infectious Bite as a prerequisite. Like all zombie skills, it'll cost you 100XP.

What it will do is power up your Infectious Bite so rather than causing a local infection in the area it is delivered, this infection will enter the bloodstream causing Blood Poisoning. As a result, it is much stronger than a normal infection. In fact, it is twice as strong as a normal Infection. This means that for every action the infected player carries out (usual exceptions apply) they will lose 2HP rather than just one, making it even more important that you get a first aid kit. (Fair enough it would probably take lots of drugs and bed rest to cure blood poisoning but this is a zombie apocalypse, since when is that realistic? There's probably anti-bacterial wipes or something in them you can use.)

This will not stack with a normal infection if the target is already infected, they will contract the stronger version instead and lose two HP per action. This will be communicated to the victim informing them that they have an even more potent infection and need urgent medical aid.

Keep Votes

  1. Author Keep - My suggestion, so naturally, I vote keep. -- Cheeseman W!RandomTalk 14:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Increasing the damage infection does will not make infection stronger.--Karekmaps?! 15:02, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  2. Kill/Change - Doesn't really affect pre-mortem infections, as most likely you'll either be cured or dead before your next logon. Also, it's too strong after a revive, as you'd only have 11 (or 14 with BB) AP to get to safety and find a FAK. However, I have a proposal to fix both problems: 1) using a FAK on this wouldn't cure the infection, only degrade it to a regular one, and 2) it degrades to a regular infection on revival. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 15:12, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  3. Kill/Change - Agree with midianian above, or just that it makes the normal infection only have a percentage of being healed (45-65%ish)--Zach016 18:16, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  4. Kill As the other Kill votes ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 18:21, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  5. Kill - Destroy the infidels! Oh, and as above... -- BoboTalkClown 18:48, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  6. Change - As Midianian. --Private Mark 18:54, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  7. Kill - Infection is fine as is. - Headshot Hal 21:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  8. Kill - I think infection is fine as it is. This will only kill newbies faster.  : (--Kolechovski 23:54, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  9. Kill - Does not increase urgency, only makes it more annoying. I like infection as is - dangerous, but you don't always die if you don't happen to have a FAK on you. --Ms.Panes 01:15, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

  3. Dupe- As Funt- the only difference is that this doesn't revert to a normal infection with death, which I don't think is a big enough difference for this not to be a dupe.Studoku 22:31, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
  4. Dupe - This idea comes up a lot. --PdeqTalk* 23:22, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
