20080210 Number Groups

Hhal 01:11, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Stats page change.

Suggestion scope
Everyone.

Suggestion description
Put simply, the group list on the stats page is nice and all, but it's hard to get an idea of how your group ranks compared to other groups just based on its rating. Therefore, I propose that all the groups be numbered. Like so:

1. The Best Group Ever

2. Another Group

This shouldn't be very difficult to implement, and I really don't see how this would contribute to server load.

LET THE VOTING BEGIN!!

EDIT: Ok, I think you people are totally misunderstanding me. I do not intend to give groups titles of "Best Group Ever". That was JUST AN EXAMPLE. All I want is for the groups to be NUMBERED. Like 1, 2, 3, 4! So, based on the current group stats, it would look like this:

1. Feral Undead

2. RRF

3. Dunell Hills Police Department

4. U.S. ARMY INFANTRY

I ask you to re-read the suggestion and reconsider your votes. --Hhal 02:16, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

EDIT2: I've made a lovely picture for a demo. --Hhal 02:31, 10 February 2008 (UTC) Statspagesuggestion.JPG

Keep Votes

  1. Author Keep - My suggestion, I get a vote too. --Hhal 01:12, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  2. Keep - I voted keep because I'm in the same group as Hhal.--Xan2020 01:48, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep - i dont think that the point of this suggestion is to prove who is the best group, it just makes it easier to keep track of how your group is doing compared to others.--Scotw 03:03, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  4. Weak Keep - I don't think this is really required, but seems logical for those who want it.--Jed 04:26, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  5. Keep - Lends specificity to bragging that is already going on. --Heretic144 05:55, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  6. Keep - I don't see how it's necessary, but I also don't see who it hurts, so why not? --Diano 20:56, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Fix - Karek has a good point. --Private Mark 01:44, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  2. Fix - just because a group has the highest number of total levels does mean they are the 'best group ever'. its purely a measure of members and their levels.--Jed 02:09, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Please check the edits I made. --Hhal 02:30, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  3. Kill - It's prettier without the numbering system. --Ms.Panes 03:45, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  4. Kill- Sorry hhal, don't like it. Ioncannon11

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - Not until a method to sort the list by the different values is allowed. Just because you have the most total levels doesn't mean you're a good group.--Karekmaps?! 01:39, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I believe Rating is determined by the total combined XP of the whole group. And anyway, how is asking for another suggestion relevent to this suggestion? --Hhal 02:11, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
No, it's determined by is the levels of every member in the group added together. Xp has nothing to do with it.--Karekmaps?! 04:08, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  2. Spam - Either the ranking numbers count for nothing, in which case this is worthless, or they count for something, in which case this is unfair (the first group allows multiple alts, whilst the second does not and the third, if I remember correctly, has been skull-fucked for zerging). Personally I don't think that the system should be relied upon or given increased validation. --The Hierophant 04:47, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
  3. Spam - Entirely useless. If knowing that you're 110th instead of "somewhere around the middle" matters to you that much, you're free to count your position yourself. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 10:22, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
