20080321 You’re notified of book experience completion

Kolechovski 22:39, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Improvement

Suggestion scope
Books, and the people who read them

Suggestion description
Currently, you can get 30 XP from reading books before they stop giving it out. There’s no way to know when you’ve hit this benchmark unless you’ve been counting right from the start, and few people that resort to books actually know about the limit at first, so they’re likely not keeping track.

Just about everything else in this game tells you when you reach the limit, but this here doesn’t. Why not? I’m pretty sure you’d know when the basics that books can teach have been taught. So, let’s just add a little message that starts displaying anytime you read a book, starting with when you hit the 30th XP.

“You have learned all that can be taught by books.”

  1. Author Keep - : ) --Kolechovski 22:40, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
ZOMGZ! - This is so overpowered its unreal! Zombies do not deserve the advantage of having poor survivors reading books continuously, not realise that they won't learn anything more! This must be fixed! -- Cheese 22:44, 21 March 2008 (UTC) - The Big Man has spoken. -- Cheese 23:39, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
  2. Keep - There's a limit? I didn't know that, could save a small amount of AP. --FXI 22:56, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep -I am all for not reading anymore than is absolutely necessary--Airborne88Zzz1.JPGT|Z.Quiz|PSS 23:00, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Keep - Who read books anyway? pff... anyways... seems fine... although I can name a few people that will find fault with it... (lol, coming from me >.<)--/~Rakuen~\Talk Domo.gif I Still Love Grim 23:23, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Changing Vote due to Kevan's Response also....--/~Rakuen~\Talk Domo.gif I Still Love Grim 16:19, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
    Wasn't this already in the game? 'Cause I remember reading a book and it gave me a message like that. But, whatever... --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 23:47, 21 March 2008 (UTC) Changing my vote due to Kevan's response on the talk page. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 18:41, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

  5. Weak Keep - Makes sense, although it is probably quite pointless seeing as how very few people actually read books. Seriously, who plays a zombie apocalypse to sit down and read a book??? But like I said, it makes sense.--Dr Doom86Phoenix2.gif T PSS 00:46, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
  6. Keep - Because this is a super unfair zombie nerf that only pro survivors gain from. -doc crook 01:34, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
