Moving laying corpse to adjacent square

Dott. Agasa 16:52, 25 March 2008 (UTC+1)

Suggestion type
Skill

Suggestion scope
Survivors with Body Building skill

Suggestion description
Observing the recent situation of massive sieges, and understanding that killing zombies is not useful as they can always rise, you realize that you can attack the undead in their weak point: when they lay, for some time, really dead.

This suggestion is about a skill, that, acquired as a subskill of body building, allows a survivor to carry a laying corpse from the current position to an adjacent block, for the cost of 2 AP plus the normal moving cost. if implemented is not a big balance change but it can make killing zombies more interesting, for example during a siege, providing a more effective way to pause them on their smashing path. Besides, in a zombie situation, a smart thing to do is get the corpses of dead people and dump them in a junkyard.

AND NO, the corpse is and stays on the street and there is no way to make it enter a building.

Keep Votes

  1. Keep - Mandatory Author Vote of Doom. --Dott. Agasa 16:58, 25 March 2008 (UTC+1)
  2. Keep - Meh. Interesting. Bit Pied Piperish but the cost is reasonable enough. -- Cheese 16:06, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep - Could bring a new meaning to prison tactics. --FXI 17:15, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  4. Keep/Change - It's be fun, but unless you address some details, I'm not buyin it. I only voted keep cuz I just ran over five zombies in my tank. --Officer 123satsitx 21:29, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Re - I'm very willing to modify it to make it more usable. If you please explain which details to look into and how, maybe in the talk page if it's long, i'll be very grateful. --Dott. Agasa 23:45, 25 March 2008 (UTC+1)
  5. Change - add a set limit of blocks that you can drag the corpse, and I can see this being useful. As is, it is rather Pied Piper-ish. Marjorie 22:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - I am pretty sure this is a dupe, but that aside it is a "Pied Piper Skill", so kill.  Billy Club Thorton  T!  RR  16:45, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Re - The bad thing about this kind of skill is if it's unbalanced, but with 3AP per move versus 1 or 2AP of a walking zombie, it's balanced. Besides, the corpse you are carrying can stand up and eat you happily in a zone far from safehouses. --Dott. Agasa 17:51, 25 March 2008 (UTC+1)
  2. Kill - Pied Piper, plus kinda stupid if you ask me... why would you want to drag them anywhere?--/~Rakuen~\Talk Domo.gif I Still Love Grim 16:52, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Re - Distract them and forcing them to stop smashing at your cades for a while, i guess?--Dott. Agasa 17:51, 25 March 2008 (UTC+1)
  3. Kill- I'm fairly sure this is a dupe but I can't find a link. Even if it wasn't a dupe, it would still be useless though. If it costs 3AP per move, a survivor with full AP would need 4AP per square if they wanted to get beack into their safehouse. This means that the zombie would have to use 15AP (30 without lurching gait) to get back to the building. Spending 50AP to waste 30 is extremely inefficient compared with barricades or healing. On the other hand, griefers and zergers could easily abuse this and carry corpses across the city.--Studoku W! 18:17, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  4. Kill - As Studoku said. To drag a zombie 5 blocks away and go back would take 21 AP (15 for travel + 5 for return + 1 to re-enter), while the zombie would be able to spend 7 to make the same trip. You're better off spending those 14 APs being productive. The skill is useless, nobody would get it until they had nothing else to get, and even then they would be a fool to use it.--Shigogouhou 19:47, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  5. Kill - As everybody else. Plus this would be really irritating for the body. You also don't mention how this works if the body 'wakes up'. --Vandurn 19:52, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  6. Kill - Let's not, mkay? --BoboTalkClown 20:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  7. Kill - ZOMG. TELEPORTATION AGAIN.--Luke Skywalker 20:42, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  8. Kill- Makes the skill unusable due to AP cost, and you fail to show that this will stop zombies from standing up immediately after they die dring a siege, which is the intent of the suggestion; no? -- BKM 22:03, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Dupe - I remember something like this before, with you being able to drag them a number of blocks. I don't remember the name of it, so I can't grab a link, sorry.--Kolechovski 16:05, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
perhaps this suggestion? not really a dupe though --Scotw 20:09, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Re - Excuse me, but that suggestion is utterly absurd and...out of genre...devoid of sense, absurd, childish...whatever. what being willingly pulled around in a little...red...wagon has to to with trying to get rid of rotting zombie corpses? --Dott. Agasa 21:33, 25 March 2008 (UTC+1)
  2. Spam - Utter gash. --The Hierophant 16:54, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  3. Spam - Pied Piper - there's no limit to how many blocks you can drag the corpse. Plus - a sort of teleportation. A survivor (zed-friendly) could drag corpses into barricaded buildings, where they could then stand up, having utterly bypassed the cades. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 17:43, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Re - 3AP is enough for dragging the corpse not so far. If, by lucky chance, you have 50 AP to start, you can only drag the corpse for 16 squares, obviously if he does not stand up and eat you. and You cannot drag in buildings, only inside the street. imagine entering a barricaded building carrying a corpse on the shoulders... --Dott. Agasa 17:51, 25 March 2008 (UTC+1)
  4. Spam - Times by ONE MILLION! Can be horribly abused, what if a zerger, or even a co-ordinated group decided ot drag someone across the city.--Thekooks 20:26, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  5. I swear to God, if I see another suggestion like this, I will shoot myself in the head. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 21:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  6. Spam - Even a radically nerfed Pied Piper mechanic is still a Pied Piper mechanic. --WanYao 21:13, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  7. Zerg - One alt can carry two or three alts to whatever place and drop them. --User:Axe27/Sig 21:53, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
    Re - Yeah, using 200 AP. --Dott. Agasa 23:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC+1)
