20080709 Cars

Neuromanc3r U! 03:59, 9 July 2008 (BST)

Suggestion type
Balance change, improvement.

Suggestion scope
Survivors, mostly.

Suggestion description
In zombie movies, there are always cars sitting around. Why not in Malton?

The cars would have to remain in streets and could not be taken into buildings. Upon entering a block with a car in it, the user would see the following text:

-There is a car here. The tires appear to be flat.
-There is a car here. The keys are in the ignition.
-There is a car here, but it is too damaged to be useful to you.

etc, etc.

Upon getting into the car, the user would see:

-The engine sputters to life. You shift the car into drive, and pull out onto the road."

If the user tried to get into a car that was unusable/damaged, he/she could see the following:

-The engine turns over, sputters once, and dies.

or something to that effect.

It would cost 1 AP to get into a car, but while in a car, it would take 2 city blocks to use up 1 AP. The user could also shoot at the car and destroy it. Zombies could also destroy the car. If the gas tank was hit, the car would be completely obliterated, leaving no trace of it behind.

Since Malton could easily become swamped with too many cars, I would suggest only having a certain number, or else having them time out after a while, just like characters.

Keep Votes

  1. Author Keep- Obviously, I think it's a good idea, or I wouldn't have suggested it. --Neuromanc3r U! 04:01, 9 July 2008 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Unneeded complication. Eventually roads get blocked up or degrade to unusability in an apocalypse anyhow. Malton's outbreak happened several years ago... --Pgunn 05:50, 9 July 2008 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Dupe/Spam - I am 99% sure this is a dupe, but I have too much of a life to look it up. If this is not a dupe, then this is a spam.  Billy Club Thorton  T!  RR  05:43, 9 July 2008 (BST)
  2. Incomplete Cars have been tried before. WHERE are you going to find a road clear enough to drive on? Survivors already have better movement modes then zombies anyway. They don't need "1 ap per 2 squares" movement.--Pesatyel 06:07, 9 July 2008 (BST)
  3. Spam - Cars. Thats just a huge no no. --The Grimch U! E! 11:15, 9 July 2008 (BST)
