20090108 Rotter revive entrance

Elitehakor 02:09, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Convenience

Suggestion scope
Rotters who want to come back to the humans.

Suggestion description
Brain Rot. A skill to prevent combat reviving (in my eyes). Good for permanent zombies, but what if, after a while, you want to experience the thrill of being a survivor? Make an alt? You don't want to start over again. Go to the local NT building? Unaware survivors might accidentally barricade it again. No rotter revive NT anywhere? Well your screwed then. BUT, what if there was an entrance designed especially for rotters? What will happen is that most, if not all NT buildings will have a special entrance so that they can get a revive. Attempting to enter it as a survivor or non-rotter will display this flavor text:

You don't need to enter here.

Entering as a rotter will display this:

Are you sure you want to enter here? You will not be able to exit.

Confirming it will make you enter it. Once you enter it, you will be sedated (you will lose no AP) and one of the following will happen (you (the voter) choose):

Automatic Revive: As the name implies, you will be automatically revived and taken to another area in the building for cleaning/healing. The process will take approximately 10-15 minutes.

Automatic(ish) Revive: A scientist with NT access presses a button and the above will happen sans the time limit. (only half of the exp and AP)

Manual Revive: A scientist will go in and revive you normally. (full exp)

When you stand up, you will be in a separate room and be assaulted with many cryptic messages that tell you not to attack other survivors for 48 hours (you know to prevent zombie spies). Once that time limit is up, you will still be monitored and if you kill a survivor, your name will be placed on a "no auto revive list" and you will not be able to enter a rotter entrance again.

Any ideas to improve will be greatly appreciated!

Kill Votes

  1. kill - i see rot survivors as players enjoying the game in the most hardcore level they can get in Malton. In this case, you dont want to make their lives easier, cuz it would be meaningless to play it as it would be the same as playing harman without rot. --People's Commissar Hagnat talk mod 02:23, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  2. Kill As Hagant. My survivor is rotted and getting a revive isn't that hard anyway. Linkthewindow  Talk  02:35, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  3. Kill - See above, plus that automatic revive thing could be abused in quite a few ways and in turn made into an unfair advantage for zombies.--SirArgo Talk 02:39, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  4. Kill - No. As the three above me. --Nny The Person 06:39, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  5. Kill - I hear that it is not too hard for rotters to get revived, and the automatic revives don't seem like good ideas. The no-harman-killing list is a disadvantage to PKers, and looks like an annoyance. --ZsL 08:50, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  6. Kill - Just no point to this. Possibly even spam -- Sage|Carr Cobra 10:59, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  7. Kill- For reasons given earlier. Nemesis645 18:11, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  8. Kill- Rotters for some reason find their way to life without NPC... so ...No.--LithedarkangelMeth!The Great Meth Man 06:03, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
  9. Kill-If you pick Brain Rot up as a skill, it's usually because you want to not be revived. It even warns you before buying it. The "irreversible" aspect should stay as it is.LaosOman 20:33, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
  10. Kill - First off, this is way to complex and sounds like it would be a pain to implement, second it would remove the appeal of "hard mode" Rohndogg1 02:45, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
  11. Kill - It's really not that hard to get a revive if you're rotted. There are several designated rot revive buildings in many suburbs. If one is overcaded, then the rotter should just shout "AHNZ, BARHAH!!!" angrily, and shamble on to the next rot revive building. --BlackstarC 02:10, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
  12. Kill - I'm rotted and its not that hard to get rezz'd, Plus this is a poorly thought out idea that makes no sense at all! --mo ヽ(´ー`)ノ MCM MOB DB 07:07, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam - absolutely not, no NPC revives or barricade bypasses. You'll have trenchies buying the rot -- boxy talkteh rulz 09:51 8 January 2009 (BST)
  2. Spam - This is a flawed suggestion for the sole purpose of gaining a higher numerical level. Your ability to play the game and your worth to your representative cause is not measured in level numbers. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 10:11, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  3. Spam - As boxy and Hagnat. Also, have you even played a rotter? Revivification isn't much of a problem. --Midianian|T|DS|C:RCS| 10:15, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  4. Spam - As Hagnat, except I don't think this should be considered as seriously. Liberty 10:22, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  5. Spam - What the shit is this? --Ocular Druuuuu 17:48, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  6. Spam - Fucking Hell, no. --Papa Moloch 18:35, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  7. Spam - Ridiculous, definitely no. --Nevin McAvoy(talk) 22:10, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
  8. Spam - This nerfs Brain Rot to point where there is no point in it even existing. Not a chance. -- Cheese 20:40, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
  9. Spam - As above re: game balance. Now, I for one have sufficient suspension of disbelief to accept a zombie apocalypse. Magic doors that only open for cortex-damaged zombies, however, that's pushing it way past my limit. That's before we even get to the magic voice issuing stern metagaming warnings.--Jiangyingzi 07:08, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
  10. Spam - Awful, awful suggestion.-- Adward  12:59, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
    Spam - Bollocks 06:01, 12 January 2009 (UTC) Incorrectly signed vote struck. --Midianian|T|DS|C:RCS| 09:43, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
  11. Spam – If you can't handle the challenge, don't play on hard mode. Rot revives aren't really that hard to get, you just have to work for them a little more. This stuff is really quite unnecessary and insulting to those who already play rotted survivors quite successfully. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 08:13, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
