Food

Timestamp: Alexander Dawkins 16:59, 5 September 2009 (BST)
Type: New Item
Scope: Survivors
Description: Can be found in : Pubs; Clubs; Barracks; Hotels/Motels; Malls

Encumbrance: 2%

Effect: Heals 1 HP at the cost of 1 AP. Can only be used on oneself, disappears from one's inventory after a single use, and does not cure infections.

Can also be used as a weapon in the same way as a newspaper: It has a 100% chance of striking the target, however, it does 0 damage, rendering it useless as a real weapon. Attacking a human or zombie target with food will result in the message: You throw food at (the target). This is generally intended to be humourous. The attacker gains no experience and spends 1 AP. The food disappears from the attacker's inventory afterwards.

Keep Votes

  2. Keep - I think it's a good idea, but you really didn't run it through Developing Suggestions; leaving it up for three hours does not an opportunity for abundant comprehensive analysis make. 3. neutral/keep it's ok... just not that intresting and seems to similar to a lot of suggestions... --Gat 18:20, 5 September 2009 (BST)
  4. Keep - FOOD FIGHT!!! User:Armpit_Odor/sig 19:49, 5 September 2009 (BST)
  5. Keep - Does no evident harm, and might eventually be possible to expand upon to be useful. Adds flavor without being entirely stupid. And those worthless drunks in the clubs can finally have something to wash down with all those beers.--Necrofeelinya 03:26, 6 September 2009 (BST)
  6. Keep - I'm famished --Darth LumisT! A! E! SR 05:02, 6 September 2009 (BST)

  10. Keep - Why not? - --Bwii 02:45, 7 September 2009 (BST)
  11. Keep/Change - I like the aspect of food healing you, but kill the food fight aspect. - --Johnny Yossarian 05:54, 7 September 2009 (BST)
  12. Keep - There's beer and wine, so why not food?--Maps 17:45, 7 September 2009 (BST)
  13. Keep/Change - That's a good idea but i would replace found in barracks with found in storehouse --Brain Flakes 23:07, 7 September 2009 (BST)
  14. Keep - Awesome. Ignore the ball-less fools below, this is a nice base for future potential as well.-- | T | BALLS! | 00:58 10 September 2009(BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - Well, apparently, according to your poor shot at formatting, No-one can vote kill. Because your suggestion is utter nonsense, I'm going to anyway.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 17:51, 5 September 2009 (BST)
Care to elaborate? --Alexander Dawkins 00:02, 6 September 2009 (BST)
    Because it's terrible?--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 14:39, 6 September 2009 (BST)
That's not hugely specific now is it? --Alexander Dawkins 15:41, 6 September 2009 (BST)
    No. It isn't.--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 15:42, 6 September 2009 (BST)
  2. Kill - Unnecessary. --Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 18:11, 5 September 2009 (BST)
Funny, actually I'd never really noticed how hitting people with newspapers was vital to the game. --Alexander Dawkins 00:02, 6 September 2009 (BST)
That was Kevan decision not mine, stupid. I would have voted kill if the newspaper thing was brought up here aswell.--Umbrella-White.pngThadeous OakleyUmbrella-White.png 16:12, 6 September 2009 (BST)
  3. Kill - Unnecessary, and I'd rather not confuse people by introducing an item that they might think is required to survive. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 19:46, 5 September 2009 (BST)
  4. Kill - As above--Orange Talk 20:01, 5 September 2009 (BST)
  5. Kill - While I think it would be fun to have a food fight or throw some at zombies, you don't really explain where you would find it in the Mall. Also, another idea to help get it passed would be a percentage chance of finding it. Other than those two things though, I'd still have to go with kill. I think it would be something that would hold it's fun for a couple of days before everyone would just tire of it and set their searches to not find any food. --DBHT 21:53, 5 September 2009 (BST)
  6. Kill - I do not see how food heals HP. Reduce hunger level, yes, but how does it cure cuts, bruises, gunshot wounds et cetra. How, tell me. HOW? --~Dr Frank (t) (DF) [P] (Sb) 09:35, 6 September 2009 (BST)
Non-author re discussion moved to talk page -- boxy talkteh rulz 15:59 6 September 2009 (BST)
  7. Kill - bland flavour -- boxy talkteh rulz 15:59 6 September 2009 (BST)
So this is worse than newspapers? Huh? --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 00:28, 9 September 2009 (BST) Non-author re struck. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 22:24, 10 September 2009 (BST)
  8. Kill - Most of the food in Malton would be rotting or decomposing by this time. --Degree7 04:13, 7 September 2009 (BST)
  9. Kill - As above, too much time has passed to have any non-rotten food. Although somehow survivors haven't yet starved to death. --YoEleven 21:44, 7 September 2009 (BST)
That's because when they starve, they die and feats upon the living. I guess everyone has regenerating human tissue. Unsigned non-author re struck. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 20:51, 8 September 2009 (BST)
  10. Kill/Change - As a gimmick food fight item, I like the idea, but as with #3 above, I think it would confuse new players. Maybe if it was called "rotten food" its lack of usefulness would be more obvious and the comedic factor would be more apparent. --Aichon 01:01, 9 September 2009 (BST)
    How about "used food"? --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 01:08, 9 September 2009 (BST) Non-author re struck. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 01:15, 9 September 2009 (BST)
  11. Kill - Interesting idea, but it might confuse new players as stated above, and the search rate isn't specified. --ZsL 22:59, 10 September 2009 (BST)
  12. Kill - Adds nothing new other than almost completely obsoleting the newspaper and beer/wine by combining their more desirable effects. Also, the issue of confusing newer players by making something which would be vital in real life be trivial in-game is a huge factor in this. For hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee 05:10, 18 September 2009 (BST)

Not a clue. --Alexander Dawkins 00:28, 8 September 2009 (BST)
  2. Canned Spam Nemesis645 12:35, 6 September 2009 (BST)
  3. Dupe. And another dupe. Also, you forget to say what food is that you can attack with it.--Pesatyel 07:05, 8 September z009 (BST)
But Beer and Wine are not Food; different flavor. --Matthewbluewars /New City\ 01:08, 9 September 2009 (BST) Non-author re struck. --Bob Boberton TF / DW Littlemudkipsig.gif 01:15, 9 September 2009 (BST)
Matthewbluewars is right though, saying this is a dupe is like saying that beer is a dupe of wine. It makes the game more interesting if you have variations of items that are fundamentally similar with a few differences for flavour. Such as food fights. --Alexander Dawkins 12:36, 9 September 2009 (BST)
  4. Dupe - As Pesatyel, changing a bit of flavour does not a different suggestion make, otherwise all these firearms suggestions would come back again and again under the names of different makes of gun. Simply no, you can live off beer, ask any student, QED dupe. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 20:47, 12 September 2009 (BST)
  5. Spam - I actually like the idea, but you didn't specify where in malls food would be found, nor what the search rate would be. Those details are important and a good reason to fully develop your suggestion before taking it to a vote.--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 10:59, 16 September 2009 (BST)
