Way too overpowered. Survivors in certain areas are screwed. Way more powerful than a shotgun. I would have voted keep if the damage was 5 or 2. --Pvt De 18:30, 18 June 2007 (BST)

How about if it does ZERO dmage? Because that is in fact exactly the case; the attack does no damage. It just reduces the survivors max HP, meaning they can't use as many FAKs.
Also, since when is "survivors in certain areas are screwed" a complaint? Thats the same as saying as "survivors in most places are not screwed". Or, conversely, "zombies in most places are screwed." In other words, by saying "survivors in certain places are screwed", you assert that survivors have the advantage right now. Which they do. 19:06, 18 June 2007 (BST)
Survivors in certain areas are screwed - that is not a good arguement. There are whole suburbs out there with no NTs, which I means death means a longer trek to get revives. If sometimes having to travel far to get revived is 'fair', then so is having to travel far (sometimes) to get 'uncrippled' armareum 01:46, 22 June 2007 (BST)

What about numeric tweaks?

would the suggestion be more accepted if the attack damage were decreased? The key point is that this attack's damage can be only cured with surgery, and only dealt once. ~m T! 19:14, 18 June 2007 (BST)

The problem isn't so much numerical but the idea itself, you don't mess with people HP in a permanent way, same reason why none of those headshot reduce HP skills will or have ever gotten through.--karek 21:25, 18 June 2007 (BST)
I understand, but the crippling isn't really permanent. It just forces the survivors to seek a hospital, instead of relying on FAKs. ~m T! 22:12, 18 June 2007 (BST)
But you are still messing with HP in a powerful way (it hasn't cost the zombie much, on average only 10AP), and you are forcing the survivor to go find a POWERED hospital to get the 10HP back.
Lets consider a few more angles here: In a normal situation, the occasional crippling when a zed breaks through the barricades will just be annoying/minor griefing. In a suburb siege situation, as soon as zombies start to break in and cripple lots of survivors, the zombies will have even more of an advantage. Especially if they hold the hospitals and keep them from being powered.
Some suggestions to make it better (although probably still not good enough for it to become Peer Reviewed): 1) Crippling has less/zero effect on survivors without Body Building; 2) Can be healed by any other survivor who has the surgery skill, with a FAK. Being in a powered hospital is not required. armareum 01:56, 22 June 2007 (BST)
