| Could somebody please explain (on the talkpage) how exactly this hurts newbies? Newbies usually focus on getting XP, so neither Digestion or Infection are high in their priorities. They're more likely to get Lurching Gait and Ankle Grab, after which the change is equally harmful to them as it is to older players. |
Agreed, I would never get Digestion as a newbie zombie - I want to increase the chances of getting more XP first. In order, I'd buy:
- Death Grip
- Rend Flesh
- Memories of Life
- Lurching Gait
- Ankle Grab
- Scent Fear
- Scent Blood
..and then I'd think about Digestion next. That makes it the 8th Skill I'm buying at the earliest, and after I can attack with full claws and at the weakest survivors. Hardly a newbie anymore. 'arm. 03:41, 31 July 2007 (BST)
- If you're new bite makes sense, at least it looks that way. Which would be why new zombies bite so much and will put skills into bite. Digestions would seem like a good idea to someone who doesn't know the game or who doesn't know how much barricades weaken bite.--Karekmaps?! 05:55, 31 July 2007 (BST)
- Yeah, but it seems like a good idea regardless of the change. In fact, the change might dissuade people from buying Digestion for the wrong reasons because it doesn't seem so good anymore. Digestion in general is a pretty useless skill because zombies usually are either at full health or dead. The change doesn't really have an effect on its usefulness. --Midianian 10:46, 31 July 2007 (BST)
- Digestions doesn't say anywhere that it does do this. Players aren't buying it for that purpose that just happens to be a little plus which helps out younger players who bought the skill. Well that and low level survivors constantly gain experience of zombies by dealing a little bit of damage, so if young zombies can gain some hp from biting other zombies for experience that is a good thing.--Karekmaps?! 10:49, 31 July 2007 (BST)
- Whenever the zombie deals bite damage, it gains HP equal to the damage dealt. Straight from the Buy Skills-screen. It doesn't specify who the zombie is biting, so you can only assume that it doesn't matter. If players don't buy Digestion for gaining HP from zombies, then what's the harm of making that gain a little smaller? And how does all this harm low-level zombies more than high-level zombies? --Midianian 14:34, 31 July 2007 (BST)
